Dota tournament help my team!

Hello all, I need some pro help on a subject..

a few weeks from now there will be one of the biggest dota tournaments in Dubai(united arab emirates) and my team will participate. So we have been thinking about some team strategies where every hero can be good on his own and together. And me being the illusion hero master(i truly am) suggested an all illusion team, and my friends liked it, but i am not sure of the hero roster we will take.

Here is what i got in mind:

1- Treant Protector: hes a must, because of his great early game abilities(invisibility and living armor) and his OVergrowth ultimate, as it will allow the rest of the team to deal pure damage without the enemy running away.. He will be equipped with Radiance, battlefury(maybe x2), and heart.(maybe valdimir's offering)

2- Phantom lancer: Quite frankly, the best illusion hero in the game. He will have the exact same items shown in my strategy for him(check strategy section). basicly manta style and other items. I got a question here, does butterfly evasion stack with his evasion?

3- Chaos knight: second best illusion hero, he is quite great early game as well as late game. check my strategy for him in the strategy section for the items that will be used(no manta for him).

4- Naga siren: 3rd best illusion hero and one of the best team game heroes, naga siren is a golden adittion to this team. ensare and siren song are just invaluable in team games. Equipped with manta style, butterfly, and heart.

5- here is my problem, i am having trouble choosing between Soul keeper and Spectre. please help me here too. Spectre: awesome solo player, and a great anti crit heroes(mortred, skeleton king), and her ultimate skill is just great. equipped with manta style, radiance, butterfly. Soul keeper: quite weak in the begining, but very deadly later on, he will be our only ranged attacker. equipped with: eye of skadi, butterfly, and heart.

Please help me with number 5.

I would probably choose specter since in most tournaments games some games don't even last an hour to finish. Since specter has a greater amount of escape using her ulti or dagger.

Though soul keeper is strong late game, in early game soul keeper is the weakest link and quite a big gamble if your team is unable to help soul keeper. Since if you can't it would most likely weaken the team both in moral and the fact it makes the other team stronger.

For evasion alas it still won't stack with butterfly.

Oh and it would be probably wise to change line ups once in a while rather than going full illusion all the way in every battle. Since other teams can come up with strategies to counter that. Like the Ezalor or Obsidian+raigor combo. This duo are a pain since ezalor not only pushes but can give unlimited supply of mana to raigor for fissure and such making for a rush game finish. Since early game most illusion heroes are at there weakest and can be taken advantage off without proper cooperation with the team.

Oh and watch out for wards especially since you have treant, he may have eye of the forest but its line of vision is limited and cannot be placed on other ganking areas like on the river properly plus it can be countered by tree destroying skills. Be careful of wards since even if you can see the ward that doesn't mean you can live to go and destroy their ward < this applies in the heat of battle where they know treant may be hiding and just put a ward for good measure. Oh and don't forget to use observer wards.^^

I was talking to the team leader/best pal about it yesterday, and we both said that we may have trouble with the earth shaker. We know he is tough but he can't possibly make the win for the enemy team, most importantly we do have a lot of mantastyles to drain his mana. We decided that we should reduce the emphasis on image heroes, so instead of soul keeper and spectre we decided to add the Crystal Maiden. Her frost bite is just excellent for catching opponents, and her freezing field + overgrowth are just an awesome combo not to pass. But here is another issue, i was thinking that maybe instead of crystal maiden we can put magnataur. I was thinking of this combo, First use magnataur's ultimate, then overgrowth, ofcourse all the heroes would be bashing at the same time. Equip him with battle fury x2 like treant. and you will have a force to be reckoned with. what do you think? Magnataur or crystal maiden?

I would choose Magnataur over Crystal Maiden. Rylai's usually the priority kill or enemies because she's a real pain. What's bad is, she has low HP. So if she gets killed a few times at the start, that will continue through the rest of the game. Magnataur's tougher and Empower + Mighty swing + Battlefury is just sweet for creeping [equates to push], not to mention that Shockwave is a great harassing skill [90 mana OMGWTFBBQ!!!].

Heroes with AoE spells will annoy you, especially Davion when he gets a Void Stone.

Sven could pose a problem for illusions [splash attack] and allies that are alone on a lane [stormbolt + god's strength]

Akasha too.. She can wipe out you illusions and escape. Sheez..

And prolly Priestess of the Moon too.. Same reason: AoE attack.

nah, if we get the jump on him hes dead for sure ^^

most of those heroes aren't a real threat IMO. but akashi maybe somewhat harder to deal with ^^. but i bet our stunning combo is good enough against her.

Heh the last anti illusion build we had was

Ezalor+raigor < lots and lots of stuns
Silencer < to counter anyone who was not able to be in the blackhole or after blackhole and all of raigors combo was done using his ulti
Enigma < to stack up all the heroes for echo slam + plus splitshot and the rest.
Medusa < split shot+ rapier build. As long as you're good at last hitting anyway. I am queen of last hitting with Medusa^^

mostly a rush game line up but I never joined any of my friends tournaments due to time constraint so this line up was made without any seriousness^^

i usually am complacent ^^

But how can they counter our images when they won't know what to expect yah?

So we have several strategies that we will use, ofcourse we will save the best for the end so no one would know about ours. Ofcourse we will check out our opponent's strategies and try to counter em. Besides the tourney is probably -leage mode so we will have to wait and see.

Team update ^^

We now completed the players who will be in our team, so there has been some hero changes too.

Due to the heavy emphasis on illusions, we decided that it could be countered by the enemy because the tactic is flawed. So we reduced the importance on illusions. we chose to remove Phantom lancer(although he is the best illusion hero) cuz he is kinda useless until late game. Here are the main hero team:

Chaos Knight : Best hero in the game, plus, illusions are the best counter to cookie cutter heroes(skeleton king/drow/etc)

Naga Siren : Best illusion hero team hero, her ensare and ulti always do the job for the team. Besides, she has the second best crit in the game and also illusions.

Treant Protector : Pure bred team support tanker! this dude is just amazing in team games, overgrowth is just great, and living armor is also amazing.

Magnataur : Wow, yesterday i played on GG with one of my team members(the leader actually) and i picked magnataur for the first time, and i gotta say WOW,. hes so strong! shockwave is a spammer's heaven and with battlefury + cleaving attack is just wow for farming. Reverse polarity will be the set piece of many team attacks. Empower is also very strong.

Crystal Maiden : the finishing touch, the new team member is pro with her, so we don't really have to worry about her bieng a free kill. anyways, She has many great team abilities such as brilliance aura, and frost bite. Freezing field has a combo in my mind ^^.

Lanes : Treant will solo. naga siren/magnataur on a side lane. Crystal maiden / Chaos knight on mid

Combos : reverse polarity then Overgrowth then freezing field. i don't think anyone can survive this. Don';t forget cleaving attack and battlefury on treant and magnataur.

What do you guys think? i'll post this strategy after the tourney.
