Ahahaha! I've been playing in gg client while here in the States, and as you know, sometimes the lag is enormous. Which is the perfect environment for the Lich, since what beats his chain frost is quick reflexes. Hehe.

So I present to you a replay, DOTA Allstars version 6.51, Frozen Throne patch 1.20e.

Lothar Lich is my original build, and I'm proud of my baby. *sniff* hehe.

Official kill/death count: 16-0. hehe.

Item build:
1. Boots of Speed
2. Claymore
3. Blade of Alacrity x2 --> Lothar's Edge
4. Gloves of Haste
5. Belt of Giant Strength --> Power Treads (Strength)
6. Mystic Staff
7. Point Booster
8. Energy Booster
9. Vitality Booster --> Agahanim's Scepter

--> Guinsoo? Eul's? Shiva's?

Early Game: Ambusher
Mid-Game: Nuker (with Disabler support)
Late Game: Disabler

There are many inherent weaknesses though (just like any build) - for one, it delays your Scepter (unless you really get a lot of kills). More importantly, if the enemies wizen up and decide to use wards/gems, your gank/escape ability is reduced. But if your team mates are good, by the time they realize this, they have other problems to worry about - namely, your team mates.

But the sheer joy of being able to control when and how you let your Chain Frost go is priceless.

I think timing for chain frost is not suitable in using Lothars but it sometimes can if you enemy are sure killers. Try building your Aghanims and BoT for enlightment xD

Lothar's is too expensive just for stealth.. I'm more of the nuker Lich.. I think an early Shiva would be much more deadly..

neph66: I agree, in normal LAN games, Lothar's is too expensive just to get stealth. But in gg client, where lag can be a b*#$%, it helps that you can have a panic button. I never use Lothar Lich when I'm in, say, blueskies Katipunan, for example. Too many wards XD

Honestly, without watching replay-
The same amount of money could have gone elsewhere, definitely.
Much better off just getting some other items, which will get you along the way of;

1) Mekansm
2) Sheepstick
3) Aghanims
4) Shiva's Guard
5) Silence Stick
6) Or even Refresher
