A Good substitute for Kelens Dagger of Escape in escaping

I've been thinking that kelens cannot be used for escape anymore and it is only good for ganking.

I thought for a good replacement for it. Lothars Edge. Why? Because it can carry the same functions of Kelens dagger. Kelens can blink and lothars can go to the same direction in getting invisible. Can also use in timing skills (e.g. Eclipse, Reqiuem of Souls etc.) with it for gank

But the price speaks for itself. There are slight disadvantages in using lothars like AoE spells can still affect/ kill you when you escape. Gem of True Sight can counter invisibility. The price is doubled. But there are still benefits that you acquire from lothars rather than in kelens which is only to blink.

What do you think? Is it suitable in having a replacement for kelens dagger of escape in escaping?

lothars would be fine as a substitute
(its actually the only substitute i can think of)

Dagger can still be used for escapes you need better timing now. As for a substitute town portal is still one of the best.

Gank=good for dagger and Lothar's
escape= good for Lothar's, BoT, TP scrolls, or (Not recommended) insanely good dagger timing, as Fwii~ says

You can escape from a enemy after with blink as long as you can juke for like 3 seconds which isnt that hard.

lothars is too expensive, and its counter is like 5 times cheaper
i hate lothars, except on few heroes like Veno

Well if you really feel like an escape etc. item then by all means.
Not worth it on most heroes.

on agi heroes lothars is worth it.. gives u 42 dmg and windwalk. on str and int heroes a measly 21 dmg and 21% atack speed and 3 armor aint worth it

the new dagger seperates blinker heros from non-blinkers...so the best sub is mb to play wid blinkers xD
