Normally I would take more time for testing but I have to leave again for another week or so, and you've all been remarkably patient so I decided to basically start a public beta test. I'd call this "Revision 0", but there's really no point in that, so here's the first revision of the newest port of RGB's AI to 6.53.

Note: Expect bugs. I haven't had time to find/iron them out. But please do report them as they show up.

I haven't had a chance to change -rd to the new format, or to address the removal of the "undroppable while in cooldown" system. Also, no "$" symbols for observers yet. I'll add these in the next revision, which I'll start on right after I get back.

In the meantime, go ahead and test the AI...I make no guarantees yet on quality and such. As far as I know, the item builds all work (though sometimes it screws up if you give the AI a bunch of money and they all go buy items simultaneously)...let me know if something breaks during an actual game.

One quick observation I saw in brief testing is that the AI tends to return to the fountain more frequently...I don't know if it was a fluke or some odd routine that's running too often. Confirmation would be good. If it is a problem, I'll try to fix it in the next revision.

As far as I know, all the other new content has been done (except for -ah, -afk, -kickafk, some exploits, and various bugfixes). As always, report bugs here as you encounter them, and be specific: "OMFG MY GAME CRASHED WTF" is not very helpful.

DotA Allstars 6.53 AI+ 1.52 Revision 01

This is a port of RGB's AI+ v1.52 (originally written for DotA Allstars 6.48b).

It behaves the same as the original AI, and has only been updated to account for balance changes, new item recipes, and most new features. As such, some new content does not work fully with the AI yet.

THERE IS NO AI FOR LIFESTEALER, INVOKER, OR CLOCKWERK GOBLIN. THEY WILL NEITHER USE NOR LEARN THEIR SKILLS.

Known bugs with AI:
-Pathing on the top Sentinel lane is still the same as in 6.48b
-AI Sand King will not properly use Epicenter
-AI don't properly react to -nb and -nt modes
-Some exploits that should have been fixed are still in the game...just don't use them. If you really want to cheat against AI, just use -test.

Some commands have yet to be implemented properly:
-ah
-afk
-kickafk

Additionally, I have added a Fun Tavern in the lower right corner. Currently includes six legacy heroes (possibly more in the future): Old Invoker (6.12b), Old Lifestealer (6.48b), Old Silencer (6.12b), Gambler (6.06), Old Morphling (5.84b), and Old Stealth Assassin (5.84b).

To access the fun tavern, type -fun within the first 15 seconds of the game.

-Changed the way gold distribution is coded to hopefully prevent crashes
-AI also get the same gold bonuses as human players in -em now if using -ng
-Updated -unstuck to use the implementation in 6.52
-Changed Eclipse implementation to that of 6.50 (no ministun)
-Changed Wild Axes implementation to that of 6.50
-Changed Land Mines implementation to that of 6.50 (detect floating heroes)
-Changed AI item routine for Deathmatch
-Fixed a small bug with Puck respawning with a slightly smaller model size after dying (heh)

Appreciate the work you put into this but the AI indeed does return to the fountain way too often. I noticed if that if they have Boots of Travel, they will most likely return to town when the cool down is up.

You're right about the AIs returning to fountain more often. It looks like they use it as a camping place? The AIs would buy a Sotp and use to it scroll to their first tower and instead of pushing a lane, they would start walking backwards towards the fountain. Only when the creeps/player push past the 1st/2nd tower would they come and kill off the creeps. After destroying the wave that pushed past the tower, they would just return to fountain until the next wave starts to atk towers again. The AIs don't even push past the 1st tower ... they depend on their creeps while they camp at fountain.

PS : Created this new account just to give feedback on the AIs. Do u have an email address for feedback? U nvr posted it yet =D

Anyway thanks for putting the map here.


btw the AI has better item build IMO, but they neither farm oftenly, nor ganging us. They just come to our line and get killed easily. I still prefer the older version of AI (though in this map i can use rattletrap)...

Anyway, about the ai. If you have the misfortune to have one of the ai on your team picking one of the new heroes, restart the game. The ai will not know how to use it.

actually that might happen if you play -ar mode, because i have never experienced playing against AI with bugged hero (or without script) when i use -ap mode.

Today i just played against AI with standard experience and gold gain (that means without -ne and -ng) but all AI seems to have lower level than me, though at early game they outlevel me. At around lvl 10-15 they were missing, and returned with much lower level than mine.

i know the ai returns a lot to the base, but there are another errors :

AI routine / waypoint problems. Somehow, AI tries to go to fountain when lvl1 tower is not under attack, it does that again and again. If tower is under attack, AI goes to tower, defends it, and then goes back to base. This happends on bottom and top lines. On middle line, AI usually keeps attacking ( sometimes ) maybe because middle is the shortest line and creeps come very quickly, however, when creeps are dead, AI goes back to tower , meets new creep wave, and again goes to attack.

Weird Consumable Usage :

When AI goes back to base, it sells all consumables, buys the new ones, and then goes to attack. The problem is, if AI didn't use any consumable, it still sells them all, and then buys them again.

Item Build Errors :

Yes, some heroes can't complete their item builds. ( I found Lina, Gondar and Magnus , but I'm sure there are many heroes with same problem ).

Personally, I think you posted this map too early ( its just unplayable ), but still, users could test AI heroes new item builds for errors. closedeyes.gif

Update : I just played another game. Once all enemy towers were destroyed ( except lvl 3 towers ), some AI's started to push the middle, others went neutraling, this makes me think that you could fix this bug just by sending all AIs ( when they reach lvl 6 ) into jungle so they wont waste time or make them stay near the tower and wait for the enemy creeps.

About Item Build Errors :

I found out this : If you use Gold cheat after 1 : 25 ( when creeps spawn ), then most AI's will never complete their item builds. Without it, AI seem to buy items correctly. Another thing is that some AI's now are overpowered, they start to own very quickly, while others suck.Also I checked new Terrorblade's item build ( jungle one ), 5 branches
and radiance rush, it took 30 min for him to radiance, ( I used -spar mode, so AI had bonus gold ) too long for AI.

I also had some weird FPS problem ( game was bit faster than usually, ( it was like 2x or even 3x ) ). Additionally, I experienced some lags when AI got Invoker ( 1 game even crashed ).

But type this command : -oa X, X (where X is the number of your AI ally) but it doesn't work for enemies :S

Anyway, I just browse and found it. I posted without tested it first because I know that buffmeplz's AI is good. Maybe there'll be revision soon. Just wait and if somebody find the revision, posts it okay!!
