Some facts about the Hand of Midas

Posted: Tue Jul 22, 2008 7:09 am

Hand of Midas
  • Can be found at the Human as a Level 1 Recipe
  • Turns creeps instantly into gold (Transmute)
  • Cannot transmute summoned or Dominated creeps, heroes and Ancients
  • Cast range: 600
  • Quote:
Gold Received = [Creep Bounty x 2] + [Creep Cost x 0.4]. Creep cost = Gold needed to buy the creep. See Ladder Warcraft.

  • Table of average Transmute gold on various creeps:

This will be the final reference point to anything related to Midas. For this reason, no further threads are deemed necessary to discuss Midas anymore. Everyone please take note.

Well worth a buy; 200 gold a pop with transmute at it's cooldown is more than decent.

Some days ago I saw a replay when SF got this item (think it was member of XcN). But he never went in the jungle to get gold, instead he kept transmutings the opposing teams necro/druid of talon.

Why did he do that?

he didnt care about the almost 50 xtra gold i guess? eh?

hmm my guide listed i think 5 values.
this is a cery useful guide, but really, you want to use midas every time the cooldown goes off, but it is useful to have.

I guess i rmb MyM|H4nni getting HOM of SF. and yes it is a waste of time to go into the forest to get a kill. Because in a solo lane, you always get more XP and gold than the jungle. (assume u last hit decently)

caspian, you should mention that transmuting a creep will cause any other creeps to come attack you so you can use this item to creep pull as well

also, good info
