Blink dagger vs. BoT(for killing and escaping)

After picking up ideas on item builds from posted comments and a few practice games with ursa,i learned that i prefer blink dagger than BoT.ursa needs to dash in for the kill more than he needs to escape specially with opponents like luna moonfang who he needs to dash in and kill before she can cast.Blink dagger helped me do that but not BoT.it is my second goal for ulti items after vanguard instead of BoT...as a "not-so-expert" player however, i can't be sure if this is generally true for all other heroes too.i am looking forward to your votes and comments.

Yes, dagger is better compared to BoT at killing. But BoT is not really an offensive item. At least not directly.

that's why people use Lothars to get up and close to the enemy to rip him to shreads

and Blink dagger and BoT aren't really used for the same thing. BoT will allow Ursa to chase well while the Dagger is for initiating. I don't think people get BoT so they can quickly get to the enemy hero.

Vanguard is a good item, giving survivability so you can attack a lot and do massiv damage through fury swipes. You can also get all the pieces on the side shops so you don't need to go back to the fountain to get a recipe.

blinky is good for killing and escaping, but i recommend skipping it and get a heart... cuz u could always sneak up on them. =D

ahh now someone else has said they cant be used for both killing and escaping.but i wont skip blink dagger for now becaise i need to practice sneaking some more.that is i don't get to be the one sneaked upon.

if you are the one who gets sneaked up upon, then the attacks will disable the dagger so you can't use it, then you have to juke or something for 3 seconds for it to become active and you can use it

for BoT, juking will be easier since you have a higher ms, but the teleport is delayed (as opposed to blink's instantaneous effect) so if they catch and stun you, then you won't escape easily

for Lothars, it can't be deactivated (like the dagger) and it can be used to initiate as well as run (invis and increased ms), also, it gives Ursa +42 dmg, +21%iaspd

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by sneaking, is it moving around the map undetected or ambushing an enemy hero easily?

BoT and Dagger are very different items. BoT is for mobility which is not necessarily "escape." If BoT's Teleport is used for escape, TP is a cheaper and faster alternative. Dagger's use is almost always skill positioning. Escape with it requires luck, skill and teamwork.

Escaping:
Dagger Pro:
Decent cd means it can be used more than once if you're trying to run away
Instantaneous effect
Blink over unpassable terrain to delay your enemies for a large amount of time

Dagger Con:
Can be disabled by being attacked
Short range means enemy may still be able to catch up to you

BoT Pro:
Long range TP means if it's successful, they're not getting you.
Increased MS means better juking and running away to buy you enough time to TP, or just plain outrun them

BoT Con:
TP can be cancelled, and with 60 sec cd means you are most likely dead if you can't outjuke and outrun them.

Initiating - Dagger wins hands down

As for ursa, I'd say that you're best bet is to get (in roughly this order)
Vlads, Boots, Lothars, BoT scroll to finish BoT, Heart + Flys as you prefer.

Lothars is best initiating item for Ursa because you can position yourself properly to initiate, also with quick cd you can initiate with it, fight for a bit, and use it to quickly escape into a juke lane and tp back to base. vlads rush is so you can solo rosh right away (with overpower and +dmg orb, forget skill name), boots for ms, lothars as mentioned above, BoT for map control and pushing/defending ability, heart flys for killing power.

by sneaking i meant getting caught while farming.i didn't play agressively til i got the vanguard because i tried harassing/sneaking with ursa in early game with early game items and it didn't go too well.but i will try lothars this time as popular suggestion.its just that its a much expensive item and something i'd consider if i last til late game.which leads me to buy blink dagger anyway.blink dagger seems more useful for both as soon as i get an ulti item when i can then have the confidence to both escape and initiate

Use lothar's. Do not use blink(I perfer), get BoT.

BoT is really good for pushing.

for me, dagger is better for killing. BoT is just there to give you extra movement speed and to avoid lane push

That's why you blink over impassable terrain

@KimJohannaST you should try Lothars at least once, it gives you a pretty good initiator and escape mechanism that also gives +42 dmg and 21% iaspd. It can be countered by wards/gem but dagger can be countered by observer wards

ahh hero kills finally!!! all your suggestions really helped. besides a guide i got from the internet for starters...its a big deal to me that i reached dominating with insane mode a.i...ehehe.i didn't get pawned! WHAAAA!?? ahahaha. feels so good. haven't tried all the combinations found in the posts though...maybe when i reach godlike with ursa and all str agi heroes i start trying int heros for practice.they are much harder to master.i am now practicing with slardar too...i stuck with blink dagger by the way.enrage,overpower,blink,earthshock and well the rest is history!

Both lothars and blink are good for initiating, but lothars also gives you alot of extra DPS, which is the only reason I prefer it. Normally, when I play ursa, I jungle him, so I get money faster, rush vlads, kill rosh, back to jungle for more money. The lothars can be farmed pretty quickly that way, since after vlads you can take on all the really big creeps, and vlads should only take until level 7 or 8 to buy. You can also backstab (what you call sneaking) enemies that are pushing mid or bot lane (if you're playing sent) and get hero kills for more gold. Glad to see it's working for u.

Slar generic build:
Travles/Treads, Vlads, SnY, Cuirass
afterwards, either heart, rad, or w/e u feel like.
