WHY R DOTA PLAYERS SO UNIMAGINATIVE?

im relatively new to dota (about 4 months) and to this site so despite this being a little off topic id like to ask anyway. One of my favourite heros is the tidehunter and i started off using a battlefury, Assault and heart build on him (which is pretty standard), lately though ive been experimenting with some different builds my favourite of which is 2nulls, arcane, refresher and shivas guard for a disabler tide and so far so good. In the two games ive played with it ive got 4-8-12 while my lane partner zeus went godlike. in the other i finished with 0-5-16 and again my lane partner lion finished with 16-2. In both games i was called a noob (not by my allies mind you) solely for not getting kills. Why would it be that people would criticize me when i was clearly playing a good role in my team? is it just there angry at having lost and im reading too much into it or do people just choose to ignore assists as a valid indication of someones contribution

i think some heroes have a role
and should stick to it

in pubs, the only thing people care about is their k-d record, usually tide is more offensive and will get more kills, but if you support another teammate and allow him to go beyond godlike, then it doesn't matter who is getting the kills, as long as you are there helping your team score kills, as long as the enemies are dying
because you have so many assists, clearly you are supporting your team well
and most people who call others noobs are noobs themselves, on Bnet/garena people act retarded, nothing you can do about it

ok, whatever other say, just let it be. Prove with ur act. Once i played and was shouted noob over and over by a player. I keep quite and did what i shud do. And when i got triple kill, he just said 'sorry'. zzzz.
So keep doing what u believe as long as u cud prove and responsible for it!

LOL, yeah people judge others based on what they think, if only they tried out random builds people would find out that alternate builds can work really well.

Not a bad idea . .
but considering you had Mirana, Lina as allies?
you should have been the tanker . .
and let them nuke from behind . .
they should be the ones with the Meka not you . .

yeah man, but in this case ppl went all out-offensive
pubbies don't usually play support, that's why i do it
cause if i don't i get bored
sure i can play the mid-late silencer well or the lion/akasha killer, of course the troll barathum is not out of reach either. but i rather do this, a thing i am good at, and wichis pretty fun also. enemyes go mad when you save their victims, lol

There is a distinct difference between "experimental build/gameplay" and "retarded shit." If you have a concise, well thought-out build then go for it and tweak it when you need to. On the other hand... Ursa with assault curraias, hyperstones, and a refresher orb is not the "ZOMFG The ultimate AoE slower/chaser!"

Don't mind pubs. I hate item/skill Nazis.
I almost always go the tried-and-true method, but there's nothing wrong with letting your imagination fly. Fun and victory in the end should be what matter most.
