WHY R DOTA PLAYERS SO UNIMAGINATIVE?

just now i played a Bristleback

and since i am great @ playing support i tought i would make a
support/tank bristle
my build was : oblivion staff/mekansm/boots/vanguard
that would have been followed by Radi or MKB

i was out there supporting a luna, lich, lion and mirana(all needed the tanking and the heal)


yet they all called me a noob even dough i was a great helping hand, and the only reason they called me a n00b is because they would never drop what they know to even CONSIDER something else ... i just hate that

i mean bristle -> AoE mini nuke (spamable)
-> Slow, armor reduction
-> Heal
-> Tank
-> secondary DPS

What was wrong with what i did???

There is nothing wrong with what you did. I get Vanguard on BB for tanking. I can see how mekanism would be useful but I think it would have been much better on Lich, who has plenty of mana to spam it and who is more squishy and deal damage through his spells (I mean he doesn't have to buy dps items to still kill people). BB (imo) should focus on tanking/damage items since he can chase people well and take damage for the team.

Oblivion staff?? what for? mana regen?

Noobs can't be helped. If you don't play the way they want you to, they call you a noob, even if you beat them with your alternate build. They don't matter, ignore them and pwn them into oblivion.

hehe I like that BB build...looks like fun. I RARELY play him. Maybe once? lol I may try him some tonight. Regardless...sigs are not for noobz...theyre really fun to make =]

Some heroes are made for specific roles....
You could make meka and oblivion on sniper and it will be the same thing...
Bristle is an tank,slower and semi-DPS not an supporter...

I dont think so man. Sniper is not a tank at all. BB is designed to run up the middle turn around and take damage whilest his friends pown the enemy. He can also slow and chase and all that but with the build this guy made he has good armor and regen and will be able to heal everyone when needed. Sniper on the other hand should be hidding in the woods messing up the enemy takeing as little damage as possible. I mean hell sniper gets lothars half the time just to avoid damage. BB would never do that, he is suposed to take damage so a heal item is not the worst idea, though he will have mana problems. Im not sure you understood his new build idea.

cuz... new things scare me.... and its all about effeciency to these players.... cant let something be new because they know the old things work... do what you feel is right mate... just dont take it to far like getting a refresher on centaur or something

Also, I was thinking of getting Meck on Huskar after armlet.
Thoughts: Since you are always trying to stay low health % this would give you a little boost if you needed it. Along with armlet you can go from 1 HP to 750 in one second that would be an unpleasent suprise for sniper. hahah

BristleBack is better as a Killer-Tanker rather than a plain supporter.

Maybe that's why they're calling you Noob.

Your not making use of BristleBack's full potential.

On items, hmmmmm.

Mekansm on BB, he doesn't need the heal, BB is known on tanking the whole team and getting just a little damage. Let others use that. Instead you can use the Gold on other more useful Item.

Don't you think that getting Meka and Oblivion Staff will just slow your Item Build?

Don't you think that it would better if you go straight to Radiance?

in pubs people dont really appreciate support... go for the ganker build. and play selfishly... unless you have a few friends on your team then you guys can go for combos and supoort and carry tactics..

i may get flamed for this but... yeah on gg when im playing with some noobs.. i play selfishly

What about on Razor? And while you're at it, an Arcane Ring would be good as well.


Pretty much what I was saying, but said better.


Most people play that way, but there is a fine line between selfishness and KSing everything

i think that is great item for support... except oblivion, because, if u want mana regen, perseverence, for me is much better item, then u can upgrade it to battlefury or linken..
but, thats just my opinion..
and yeah pubs player doesnt really appriciate support, whats they count is only kills....

well obliv gives a little mana regen, a little attack speed and a little damage, and is cheap, i buy it just so i can spam my 2 spells, and mekasm is just bonus. i allways have mana problems on bristleback, and yeah persev is a good alternate, but in my support build this is better

and you do not understand that i am verrrry good @ support.
I just am, and that's the best way i can help my team, because i am not a great hunter/ganker/killer.

and, after PT,OBLIV,MEK, and VANGUARD i would have gone for Classical builds focused on DPS

Most of the ppl think theres just one way to play the hero - their own.
Sometimes they wont get that different build for the help of team OR against enemies would be better.

Thats why they usually call ppls noob with different builds...

To be honest, the DotA community is a little weird. I'm not making fun of anyone, I'm just comparing the players of DotA to players of other games, such as CS:S or WoW or UT. I mean the shooter guys don't talk, and when they do it's generally about porn or killing people in real life. WoW guys only talk about WoW and eating, and the UT community is a little more civilized than the CS:S community, but not by much. The DotA community likes to make sure they call everyone a "noob" for every possible reason. I don't know why. But noob is used more than "f***" ... which is odd for the internet lol.

But when it comes to imagination, does the internet (excluding the art guys) have any imagination at all? lol

Builds are preference, and it seems only experienced players acknowledge the affect they have on gameplay. So if you want to try a new build, my suggestion is ignore the gallery of "noobcallers" in Dota (most of the community lol) and give it a shot. Who knows, you may just own their face with it!

I mean heck, one time I played KotL with 2 hearts, Satanic, Orchid, AC, and Guinsoo and it worked out just fine hahahah.

Pretty good support build for bb, mana and mana regen lets you spam the spikes, which is fun since it does more damage if you spam it more.. mek vanguard for tanking and heal, now that you got the extra mana from orchid mek can be useful for health and extra armour, boots are.. boots.

Pretty good build for support, instead of orchid you could try a bloodstone. It gives good mana and health regen and bonus, so could be useful to you. It can also be bought all at secret shops, so you dont ahve to go all the way back to fountain to heal. On top of mek, when you die bloodstone also provides a good heal to your allies, so if you're tanking that's really useful, if your enemies are focusing on your other teammates, then not so much.
