Raijin Thunderkeg? mjollnir or stygian

The best orbeffect for Raijin is EoS.For his Overload to slow the opponent often enough you need allot aspd and still it would be hard. With EoS you will be able to chase much more effectively. For farming you have Overload(AoE dmg & slow) and you can get Vanguard so you own creeps. The point is: why get Maelstorm/Mjollnir? If you want dmg get MKB. The reason I guess is because it looks really cool with all that lightning flying around. But other than that I don't see why is Mael/Mjol needed.

.raijin is intel dps hero, i go neither deso or maelstrom
dominator+skadi... nice hp/mana+armor+dmg
maelstrom and deso won't provide you any hp or mana boost so you are somehow.... soft
maelstrom is nice for farming but u already have that passive thingy and that can proc several times with aspd skill in few secs
orchid is good item, but raijin already has more that enough aspd and sheepstick is better item in my opinion, at least for storm spirit

You don't get Mjollnir just because the lightning is cool man,

It's because of his very high aspd the chances of getting more lightning attacks are greater, .

thus more damage .

while desolator is the most cost effective damage item in the game (at certain armor levels) mjolliner/maelstrom provides better farming which provides items with provide win.

stygian actually beats that if the enemy has less than 10 armor in about 90% of cases.
exceptions are things like BB with damage reduction.

everyone seems to forget one thing: raijin is already an insane farmer when hes farmed up any1 of this items, so the reason that hes a better farmer is not really valid.

Also the thing about the ligthnings hitting more often is also no valid reason.

If you look at damage of primary target then the damage done by mael is usually a lot less than deso.
AFAIK its 20% to trigger 150 damage lightning reduced by 20% magic resist means 120 pure damage multiplied with 20% is 24 pure damage (if enemy has more Magic resist then its even less)
+30 or what mael gives regulary.

skadi is 65 damage and reduces armor overall. just normal damage but in addition some quite good damage amplification (for armor values <20 at least).

Conclusion: the only valid argument is that with no additional magic resistance you do 24 pure damage per hit with mael which is better if enemy has high armor values otherwise skadi does a lot more. This is for 1 target combat.
Since the lighnting loses a lot of effectiveness after the first hit, theres not too much damage done per hit on other targets (also targets are random so you may hit creeps very often).

i personally like

Mjollnir better

here is why

cast static and barrier on yourself, get linkins and you cant be touched by anything

chain helps you push, and with your attack speed,

will activate often

I personally prefer MKB, more damage means it kills heroes faster. It also doesn't take an orb slot so you can get lifesteal along with it.

Between those 2, just get maelstrom. Mjollnir is a luxury upgrade. Get that if you've nothing else to buy. For an orb effect, lifesteal is the way to go. Storm cant survive very well without it.
