Posted: Sun Oct 05, 2008 9:37 amGuys some people say ward veno isnt that good but some say other whats your opinion on this.What are the advantages of him and what the disadvantages???

i think similar threads exists, but not too sure.
Anyway, this are some advantages:
-Able to roshan early
-Push better
-Good for dispelling consumables
-Scouting purpose
-Neutraling, Creep pulling
-Used as path blockers
-Used to finish off enemies with poison at a far range
-Low mana cost
Dis:
-Sacrifice stats / more damage nuke
Well, only 1 and IMO, its worth the sacrifice.

its good bcoz it can hlp u kill,def a push, make a hard push, kill roshan at lv 7 and late game its no use -_- so take it early n use effectivly

Why do you need to push early game? It's better off if you farm or gank.
I don't see how an immovable ward can do a better job in dispelling consumables than you.
It takes too much time to invest in making them into path blockers.
And finally, using veno himself to finish off a fleeing hero is alot easier than using the ward.
Wards are only useful mid to late don't get it early unless you plan to jungle.
Soloing Rhoshan at level 7 is also a dumb thing to do. With all that time wasted you could have farmed for alot more gold than roshan gives and the aegis isn't really that important yet at that point of the game.

I think its good.. because you can harass fragile heroes on early game.. and even damage tank heroes without getting near them (e.g Centaur Warchief) Adn + it has a low mana cost .. with just RoB you can spam it.. I think and you can defend a tower by wards.. I think ward Veno is good..

I dont mean pushing early game
Ward has 650 casting range and 600 range. That sure can help to dispel consumables esp when you its risky to advance.
Just 1 ward can be enuf to block in some cases, when you walk into the trees. The time for enemies to kill the ward can be used for teleportation.
And finally, Sometimes, Ulti affects mutliple targets. you cant SS every1, so its quite likely some1 will escape with 1 HP. Wards attack range combined with casting range is 1250. I believe that could help. Yes this case is not common, but definitely possible.

Wards suck imo. Why? I like to kill. Wards = no early kills. You can farm better, but they still have low damage, and vy the time you max them out, they will be easily destroyed by your enemies anyway, so whats the point? Its better to level up sting and shadow early. Sting alows much better harrasing/last hiting then wards, and shadow strike with ulti makes kills. Even stats are better than wards imo.

Use the ward type veno if u are against early gamers like zeus, lina,lion etc. all u hav 2 do is to place wards and just focus on last hitting and denying. if ur enemy is not a nuker or not an early gamer den u can max 1st and 2nd skill.

ward is very great especially early game...great for lane controlling and for making your enemy stay away which means he will not get much xp..and if he stays he will slowly die because of those wards

I save wards for late game when u need to defend against pushes. I find it quite effective to mass wards before the enemy push arrives. Their creeps will be cleared pretty quickly.

I like placing them in trees where melee heroes can't get them. Or in a spot that it'll aggro creeps and completely take them out of the lane, just lead the wards to a creep camp. But of course your enemy will become highly aware of this so it's a good way to set up a gank.

Ward VE-NO..

Advantages:
- can harrass heroes without the risk of getting damage
- can kill creeps with ease
- can stall creeps and prevent damage to towers
- can push and maintain distance from tower's range
- can temporarily ward a place as a spy
- can basically deal a decent damage for a length of time with low mana cost
- can do Roshan early but takes up too much time and enemies are aware of that, too much risk for too little reward
Disadvantages:
- also gives gold to the enemy hero who kills it
- sacrifices 4 early levels which disrupts (Shadow Strike and Poison Sting) which are 2 skills that exist for each other
- doesn't slow
- eats up your mana if you cast a lot, and is also stupid if you learn the skill and you only cast a few
- makes you a fat bum
My choice:
Well if its just my first game, i'd choose the shadow strike and poison sting over the venom wards, coz im still fresh and my mind is not yet exhausted.. If its my last game, and im dying to get into bed, i'd choose the venom wards..
But Overall, i'd rather get the Shadow and Sting, its so fun to harrass with those skills, rather than microing each ward to attack someone you want..
