how does replicate work?
or how to use it proper instead of replicating a hero with aura.

Makes a copy of a certain Hero for confusion. One more thing the only skill that copies can used are the passive skills and auras. Like Degen Aura of Mr.Omni.I think it's useless.

I'm not so sure though.

Replicate does copy auras, so you want to pick heroes like omniknight, troll warlord, vengeful spirit. Ax is good early game, counter helix owns.
It also copies Bash skills, so troll in melee form, sladar, and spirit breaker are good too.
Replicate also lets Morphling destroy a replicate and teleport to it's location. Good for Escaping, chasing, trips to the fountain, and ganks.

Not a useless skill, just a subtle one.

Lol, I don't usually replicate for auras.

My top priority to replicate are heroes who get alot of + stats items since stats benifit the illusion.

You can also replicate an ally in order to trick an enemy or place it in a safe spot so you can use it as an escape mechanism later.

You can also replicate yourself, although you cannot target yourself you may target an illusion rune or a Manta clone and since morph players usually go Skadi, your gonna have really tough illusions.

Yep, go for stat-buffed heroes such as treant or leoric. In the middle of a rumble, your enemy wouldn't notice that his own team mate is hitting him(courtesy of replicate), and as he tries to escape, replace the replicated hero with morphling, wave form and get a kill.

i never get replicate...actually, i never use morphling. in all my 2 years of playing dota, i used him, 5 times max.

you can get replicate at lvl 6.. then the put the two at lvl 15 and 16.. if you want...

I was once playing against a morphling using stealth assasin with a radiance, hardly a negligent aura to have around some creep wave, I'm sure there are other heroes with radiance that would be much more worthwhile copying but still.

I usually use this skill to escape from ganks.But to be agressive,replicating a late-game Bradwarden is my best choice.
