Ok.I have a question about HoD:
Magina's spell shield has 40%spell dng reduction...Another 30% from HoD and a 25% Naturall..=95% spell damage reduction...Am i right?

hood of defiance is good. and i read somewhere in this thread where someone was complaining it made their spell caster ineffective. cry more noob? intel casters are early mid game heros, rarely are they good late gamers. so kill as much as you can early game where they DONT HAVE the money for HOD,

its a bonus too when, after youve pwned them four or five times and they are losing money constantly that they spend the little they have on HOD. lol double whammy! Laughing

It will stack but with deminishing returns ONLY when you done the sequence correctly, namely getting HoD first before learning Magina Spell Resistance skill.

Hence, total resistance will be:
1 - (1-0.25)*(1-0.4)*(1-0.3)
= 1 - 0.75*0.6*0.7
= 1 - 0.315
= 0.685 which is 68.5% resistance

It is almost 70% damage reduction on spells, which will definately own most INT heros. Imagine Lina cast a lvl3 Laguna on you, you will only receive 300 damage! This totally screw up Lina killing capability.

same goes for them. but dont really get it for viper, viper can kill most int heroes before they have a chance to finish their combo, same with pudge, but only get it for many of your enemies are heavy nukers.

HoD is a must for Pudge now since it does help to reduce the damage from Rot. This make Pudge very deadly and greatly boost Pudge survivability from the health regen and the resistance as well. BUT do make sure that you get HoD first before learning Flesh Heap. Smile

That's mean your spell resistance will not be stacking together with Flesh Heap, just like the case of Magina if you learn Spell Resistance before getting HoD.

Of cos you will want to max out the resistance as much as possible isn't it. The extra resistance really helps a lot.

What about damage from Dagon/Maelstrom (CL) and Mjolnir (CL and ability)? Do they get reduced as well?

Hood is rally IMBA, what if you have, linken's, BKB and hood, it's an INT hero's nightmare (If you get the 3) ,

even if it doesn't go through spell reduction, it's still deadly with aghanims

@yuki and fwii

so the physical spells you listed aren't affected by spell reduction?

HoD is enough. if you want to go against int heroes, go HoD and HP items.
