My issue is with the combo.
IMHO it should be
sap -> nightmare -> summon necros -> grip -> necro mana burn -> necro attack -> sap again
Personally i find nightmare useful as a gank initiator rather as a finisher, as Bane does not have a slow/stun to stop him after he wakes up.
And lvl 3 necronomicon is never an option!
It is compulsory. lvl 1 necro is almost useless. And no dagon until after a fully upgraded book if you like. And the only micro here is *tab* select necro archer and mana burn (hotkey r)._________________

Caspian's bane suggestion is the best yet. I would only add that it is worth getting one level of nightmare at level 2 so that when he attempts to charge you, you just nightmare him. Makes charge useless.
Other heroes that trash barathrum include the centaur, lion, rhasta, and possibly even enigma. Disabling is the name of the game in this case.

Actually 1 lvl of nightmare suffices to disable a runabout pig like barathrum. In that aspect McGuaoMan is right.

barathrum's negative point is that his skills are only one-person oriented. So go for heroes with copies like NAGA SIREN or even better ...CHAOS KNIGHT

This is almost easy.
Get Naga Siren.
If you see an icon of CHarge of Darkness in your status, wait for Barathrum to get closer (but do not let him reach you), then cast Song of Teh Siren/Mirror Image (Casting Mirror Image removes current buffs).
If you cast SotS first, cast Mirror Image after it. Then get ready to Ensnare him, and he's yours.
Items are yours to decide (Sny or Manta is good as core item)

use disablers... they are good one vs one... permabash him... he's not as good as other permabashers... [dark terror and troll warlord]

I recommend you go for Centaur, and early as possible, max out Return and go for a Blade Mail. Observed it in playing AI 1v1. ^^, he can never defend himself that way, and either way, you can damage him or he will damage himself. ^^,
