i don suggest u use lina....if tide buy a hood and ur skills becomes not so effective on him

the best way to counter tide hunter is use either a good str hero such as centaur or ns...or strong agilitie heroes like troll, void,pa...dont even bother with intel heroes ...(even tormtented soul) because his gush and ulti will alwasy allow either the kill or,,escape, his passive ability doesnt help either. Btw,, magina is a very good hero vs tide hunter...

Long-ranged DPS Heroes are best, like Viper and Razor.

Don't use Lina!!! You can Use Harbinger and buy 2 aghanims,Guinsoo and BoT..

Troll is the best counter i think, just get 1 basher, butterfly and Satanic, threads. Cheap build but will be very effective.

IMO tidehunter works well in a team. Solo he's not very effective. So either:
a) gangbang him
b) fight str with str. Use someone who can spam stun, ie sven.

It's quite possible to own tide hunter using lina. Your Lina should pump stats and Learn 1 level of LSA since the stun doesn't improve per level and the stats will give you more mana to spam Dragon Slave. Nuking will take care of him early game, DON'T buy items that will help you nuke better like Dagon, Guinsoo, Agnahim's, and Refresher. I assumed this is a 1 vs 1 so Lina must be capable of owning late game, the items mentioned above will not help you own unless you can finish the game in under 20 mins. A void stone and a couple of bracers will suffice for your mana problems, get DPS items such as Desolator, Radiance, and If possible Rapier. You need to own and keep owning, be sure to learn ultimate to give you some attack speed.

Try all str heroes except doom because his doom will be dispelled by the kraken shell
