Warcraft III: TFT

Anyone play this? As in build a base and command whole armies and not custom maps. DotA has overshadowed War3 itself which is a great game, look at the GG client rooms, thousands play DotA yet only a few hundred in Warcraft, and these are global statistics. Most com shops rename TFT to DotA because almost noone plays TFT itself. Anyone who started out with DotA should get an edge because they're experienced in hero micro. So, if you play, which race do you favor and why?

What the hell is Warcraft III?? Yes, I play that sometimes. My fav race is the Night elf and the Orcs(tribal lol) though i am not very good at it. Dreaming Surprised Surprised

when i play warcraft with my friends i always use orc and nightelf. I have read in wikipedia that there are clans in b.net that are anti-dota coz dota like rambol said has overshadowed warcraft 3.

Hmm WC3 TFT is much more played than DotA. Just so you know. Playing ladder is pretty fun though im not so good:P UNDEAD FTW!!11!eleven!!one11!!

Hehe. I used to play it once upon a time. Used to think of it as the best game as i simply adored strategy. It had everyting in it. Strategy, adventure,huge armies(ok not that huge unless you have 100 peasents/wisps/peons/acolytes which is useless). I simply loved it till i entered B.Net, till i entered the realm of Dota which overshadowed the best games i had ever played by a huge huge gap.

i beat campaign and had a few lan battles but dota is more fun so i stopped playing it.... and dota isnt the only map, there is elimination tournament and hero siege and other maps like that....

oftentimes my team play the normal TFT, I like it, Human race is very versatile, I create like 5 footmen after 5 minutes after starting

Here's something, block an entrance with towers, and then place a long range(Demolishers are good) unit behind that tower wall. If the opponent doesn't micro his units, it will just do a run-around.

i like humans they seem to be very good to start, otherwise night elf are awesome, love the housing thingo's where they give you health and mana etc.!

I still play the normal TFT. My fave race is the Undead(Death Knight and Lich combined, Unstoppable). Most hated race-Humans.

Mmmmm old memories....
I LOVED TFT back then, maybe thats why im pretty OK with micro-ing.
I liked the undead cause you could just summon the building with the peasant not there. I mean, Acolyte. And the Ziggurats for the win.
