About assists, what's its purpose anyway?
I was just thinking, why not put a reward on the assists?
Maybe like a 120 gold for an assist. When multiple players assisted, the gold gets divided evenly among the players who assisted. For example 2 players assisted, both of them gets 60 gold, same when 3, all the three of them gets 40 gold each. This only my suggestion so that when you get ks'ed, you won't be that mad since you did have a reward of some sort. I would also like to know what are the disadvantages of this idea..

Assists are meant to show how helpful you are..
A reward may seem nice.

What if the sentinel or scourge kill? everyone would have a nice amount of gold IMO thought 100+ isnt that much but hey look at how some people made a fortune of hero hunting..

Rhasta would earn a small fortune ^.^

I like the idea of the reward...
i know the pain of your kill being stolen and hence your gold as well, so yes a reward might be nice.
but as abheng said its to show how useful you have been to the team.

i think the assist was made so that you would'nt feel bad if you got KS'ed. i remember this one game, i was nerubian assassin, and i had like... 20+ assists :| and 2 kills. it was wild.

lol...like i said rhasta can make a small fortune if this *reward* thingy was out but but im not sure

ps i had 34 assists last time as rhasta try and count the gold ^.^

Even when you attack an enemy hero once and i mean 1 SIMPLE ATTACK and another ally hero kills him you still get the assist. Thats not my view of assisting.

Yes,unfortunately you are correct
The big froggy made 1 simple attack become an assist
bcos it is lowering an enemy hp by a little? lol

There should be some sort of limit what is considered as an assist. Maybe you should at least have mad a stun, make a certain percantage of damage or something else. What do you guys think?

It was clearly added so players don't feel bad when the kill isn't attributed to them. But the addition of such a function can also give the 'assistants' another excuse.

Don't give money away like that. You get gold for getting a kill. Simple as that. Otherwise it's too easy to come across money isn't it?
Technically speaking, when your Base earns a kill from tower, you all get shared the bounty. If this was given to every hero on the same team, it just makes money a little less precious. Noobify the game? No thanks.

It's tedious to program, the whole percentage thing.
Just give the kill to the last hitter.

If assists would give you gold drige would be swiming in gold...from 1000 range he will assist with the aura

I love the idea of making an "assisting spree". Its gonna make the game noisier and i'd also like the idea that there should be a limit to what an assist is.
