In the games I have played, I get Hand of Midas on capable heroes, like, Gondar, specifically late gamers.

Recent studies(?) have shown that Hand of Midas is gotten by 5% of dota population.

IMO, if you use it at every cooldown, you only need 500 seconds averagely(5 usages, 8-9 minutes.) to compensate the gold you bought for Hand of Midas(This is calculated not neglecting the selling price of Hand of Midas).

So, every cooldown of Hand of Midas after the 5th usage of it, is PURE PROFIT.
At an average-good early laning, you can get 2000 gold assuming you dont go home and have a decent last-hit count. So, by somewhere 10 minutes, you should have gotten Hand of Midas if you were to add it in your item build.

So, that 30-50 minutes of gameplay is pure profit of Hand of Midas, not counting the added attack speed it gives, that REALLY helps in last hitting.

On my previous Gondar game, I got Hand of Midas pretty early even with no lane mate, facing 2 enemies(Vengeful Spirit, Dark Seer) in a lane, by staying at Wind Walk at all times and attacking for last hits, then wind walking again.

Although I was first blooded by them, I ended the game with these items :

MKB
Butterfly
Satanic
BoT
(I sold the Midas somewhere late game).

A normal game w/ a feeded Gondar w/out Hand of Midas would probably just get what I got, but without the satanic.

So, guys, what do you think about the infamous Hand of Midas?

Good for early game, not so good late game is my opinion on it. Also, I find a lot of people forget to use it's effect (generally after early game), but forget that two uses of it is more gold than you get from a hero kill.
A good item for some situations, not others.

some people think (including me) that hand of midas may delay your main item builds, but o yeah after i read all the information above i realize that hand of midas is useful though... and whosever buy it will get the gold back real soon,,, so i'll buy it in the next play maybe ^^

I get it on Lucifer (Midas + devour = imba farmage), Raijin, And sometimes on pitlord.

its good for pure late gamers who have difficulties in lanes....later its nothing less than useless...early game invaluable fer late heros except for silencer i guess,...

I only get it with heroes that RLY need to farm, sometimes on Leoric, DK, Mortred and a few times on clinkz.
do this only if you are going to farm ALL the time.

I almost never see it. The few times I see it, either they fail miserably or mow everything in sight.

I get it quite often when I play carry heroes. I alway get it when I'm Silencer and Obsidian. I like it as well on Faceless Void.

Tinker doesn't rearm Hand of Midas.

Also, note this down.
Hand of Midas is at its tip-top shape when you get it before/on mid game. Hand of Midas is much better when gotten early. Cuz that means you have more time to use it, plus more time to get profit.

yea, i seldom see it too.

i think the really bad part of it is, it dont gives you immediate effect, which is needed in early games (eg, damage for last hit, hp for surviving, regen for staying in lane etc)
