How to make a great hero icon (for new hero idea)?

Seriously I'm lousy at making my own hero icons (along with the spell icons) but I have a wonderful new hero idea coming up...
Anyone mind giving some guidance?

Try to visit our Graphic Center and ask the experts there. Or if you want to find it badly, visit www.hiveworkshop.com they have tons of good pictures.

u can take some icons from the original wc3.
if there are none you like there, try finding a pretty picture/photo and then condense it into that tiny square or just simply trim it on photoshop or something.
it works nicely actually.
