the effects of armor

so how much damage is absorbed on a hero with, say, 10 armor aposed to 5? is armor only useful on melee attacks? basicly what im asking, is what are the effects of armor? is +3 armor going to absorb 10 dmg aposed to stout sheild blocking 35 at 30% of the time? (thoes are just estimated numbers)

Armor basically reduces any physical damage you take, whether it is ranged or melee damage.

does anyone know the acctual numbers tho? ill make it simple. how much less damage would you take if you were struck with 100 damage and you have 10 armor? what if you had zero armor? will you take exactly 100 damage?

well you can check the percentage of the damage reduced. just put your mouse our the helmet in your hero's status box you'll see a damage reduction %. i think the highest is 75% damage reduction.. it's located in the bottom part of your screen in the center field where you can see your str in agi, damage. hp/mana box.

if u wish to go for high armor... i think 20 is GooD Enough... since further more extra armor just increase ur defend slightly n more slightly.. so i think is not worth lol

Yes adding armor more than 25 is quite useless. And max dmg reduction 75% is wrong. When u being guardian-ed (+1000 armor), u have 98% dmg reduction. The % of dmg reduction does exactly reduce the physical dmg (out of the "reduce dmg from...." list.) eg. 10 armor, 38% dmg reduction. U are hit by 100 dmg. U will only accept 65 dmg. If hit by 200 dmg, u will get 130 dmg. Different with vanguard which will only block 35 dmg no matter how much the dmg is.

Uh idk, but, as far as armor reduction goes, it's a powerful tool, because armor really does reduce damage by a lot, so don't let slardar's amplify damage seem like a bad thing.

W/Amp damage, deso and assault, he'll diminish your armor by 26 alone..

If he has allies like nevermore, dazzle or even venge, say goodbye, heheh...
