Well ill be the first to say thid guy rocks! Lots of people underetamates this little guy but aghenims+life drain ftw

Guy question about pugna's information is this the latest one? bcoz Pugna's ultim8 w/ aghenmis = 300dmg per sec

pugna is my one of favorite heroes because of its ulti... its very powerful when used in the right time

VeryVery powerful int hero, and i mean it, JUST INT hero, dont even try sange yasha or wadever attacker pugna strat you have in mind. very imba decreptify, pack a punch if this dude has dagon and necronomicon. ; )

Pugna's ultimate is a channeling spell: so the Life Drain can easily interrupted with stun...
BUT: if u get a BLACK KING BAR, you cant be "just" stunned during your ulti...
Just imagine, at Level 3, 9 seconds x 250 (with Scepter) hit point drain per second = 2250 DAMAGE!!! OMFG!!!
You are totally MAGIC IMMUNE and PHYSICALLY almost, because of the life draining magic... 10 seconds of DEATH!!!

I just love using pugna when i have allies with long stuns like Mirana. Stun,then drain to your heart's content!

this heroes weakness = melee heroes who can windwalk or hav crazy high speed or can stun, slow or immobilize. u will always find this hero huggin a tank hero though

i actrually love this hero, btw life drain lvl 3 with scepter is 300, i checked, it was pretty crazy, i tooked down a 3000 hp tank in 10 sec,

super gay ulti... yet i hurts... with aghanims its 300 Drained per second... ouch..

I can play well with this hero....just too powerful

He is easily countered by most heroes and items

Either stun him if yoiu can or just don't get too close to him when you know that he'll use his ultimate.

okay so he's not the best hero I have usd but... yeah he can be easily countered. He is very item dependent, he needs good items to own. Just got owned 0-10 cos of too many stunners(Sand King,Lion) on the opposite. Damn... sould have bought BKB first thing..arrghh...damn pissed....

I only must say that the worst enemy for this heroe is a linkens sphere. I have noticed that if one uses his life drain on a heroe with an activated linkens sphere, it does not only fail in draining life but also makes the pugna to remain still until the spell ends!, same happens to terrorblade. Thats obviusly the worst that can happen to you because you can easily get killed during the 9 seconds of the spell!

dont use life drain as ur first attack then. use the other skills then lifedrain so the linkens charge is used

I HAVE MASTERED PUGNA AND I MUST SAY THAT I KEEP GETTING A HUGE AMOUNT OF KILLS DUE TO THE COMBO OF DECRIPIFY, LIFE DRAIN AND NETHER BLAST. ALL I HAVE TO SAY THAT MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT PUGNA IS ANOTHER CREEP IN A CREEP SWARM SO THEY DONT NOTICE THE LIFE DRAIN AND THEY ALWAYS RUN WHENEVER PUGNA STOPS BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT PUGNA WILL RELEASE A BLAST SO STRONG THAT EVERY GOLD GOES TO HIM. IN SHORT PUGNA IS A FARMER, PUSHER AND KILLER WHO OFTEN DOMINATES THE BATTLEFIELD

The maximum excess gold i had with pugna was about 4K gold and I did not have any more items to buy...I had everything i needed...too lazy for a dagon 5 though...
@deathincarnate: I dun agree that people think pugna is another creep...cos he's somehow different...I would have agreed if you said naix without hs feast ring below him, looked like a creep

pugna = too much of an antimage/intel hero. decrepify really screws up melee heroes in early game. netherward screws up mages and rangers in early game. late game, he sucks ass though

dagon, aghanim's (450/s LD with decrep), BoT, guinsoo's, refresher if u want for double dagoning, and something of authentic choosing, as the game was always over at this point for me.

Note: Works well in conjuction with Pudge. decrepify then meat hook, rot, dismember, while life draining.

another of the hero i like cause i always lost to him even taking zues.

Not a bad hero, ward is great but it can easily be confronted with hood of defiance + BKB(avatar) or MKB(30%stop channeling spells). He is good suport hero with mekansm, hex and ward so i would say that aghanim isn't best choice for pugna in 5vs5
(or heroes can have MKB,BKB or thay can just stop changeling your drain with storm bolt etc.)

normally someone would buy BKB for him, so his ulti cant be disrupted.
very well balanced hero, but once ur enemy gets behind you, u cant escape (unless u get escape items)

ummm... its channeling. as in once cast, u cant be stunned, move or attack anyone else

well you can be stuned while channelling, but you cant move or do other spells or attack....

Troll warlord can easily counter him though.

Channeling spells are spells wherein you cant move when your casting it but if you move the spell will cancel or (correction lupeman you can get stunned) if you get stunned the spell will cancel.

@dark_nyth101 LOL, i dunno, haven't tried great idea. But even if u decrep urself and able to get in the fountain, 3.5 secs wouldnt be enough for u to get back out since ur ultra slow in decrep mode

considering pugna's generally low cooldowns, i've found he works well with a blink dagger. try it once if u like.

pugna's ulti needs assistance. cos 4 me.. i'll jz buy blink dagger or use a blink hero. and his ulti will be useless. If i'm playing team, i'll use vengeful, or centaur or rhasta to shackle or stun da opponent. While shackling or stunning, den use life drain.

Btw ...pugna's ulti can be stopped if he gets stun. So its not dat good ulti after all. That's why pugna's not my favourite hero.

I remember the ulti being 22 second cooldown.
if this hero has no mana, its gg for him. he relies to heavily on mana.

life drain is so easy to counter, i dont understand why people love this hero so much. its only good against melee heroes who cant stun.
Items which can counter Life drain so easily
Lothars, blink dagger, bashers, mkb, guinsoo, euls scepter, bkb, bkb + manta style combo, bkb + necromicon combo.

2 secs is alot with algha already

i think this hero needs not much such items like aghanims or even guinsoo.u have to use ur skills in right time, then=gg for even heavy nukers/stunners.and i've noticed pugna has veery good ms 315 is kind of imba for an intelligent hero

I heard that the first thing to equip for pugna is always dagon.Then,aghenims,Linken's,and upgrade dagon as the game continues. Don't forget BOOTS OF TRAVEL!

decrepify + life drain (at least 3.5 secs) + hex + nether + decrepify (cd is over) +nether+dagon....tons of dmg?

hiya all, anyone know the range of "life drain"..?

i normally get guinsoo straight up then save up for Aghanims, at this stage speed is the only issue so boots of travel or just boots of speed and a blink dagger depending on the chars you are versing....dagon is also good to gurantee a kill..

Note: different attridutes are needed at certain stages of the game so dont be affraid to buy some parts first
(peserverance, early game then get refresher later)

pugna only needs bkb. coz without bkb, his ulti can easily be interrupted. if pugna gets bkb, he can suck the hell out of a hero. even tanks.

use bkb, then use eul and cast nether blast. Use BKB and use sheepstcik on enemy. Then use ur ulti right away. Go ahead of the enemy so u get advantage when they are running away. If they dont die use Dagon...Pureownage...and sheepstick has low cooldown XD

Nice ulti, w/in 9 seconds you can deal great damage, and within 9 seconds, you can kill an enemy..
9 seconds x 300 (ulti with aghanims) = 2700 damage!!!! MAMAW!!!

2 ways of playing: solo with aga, dagon and life drain, or support with wards, sheepstick/euls, and levels in decr and nether ward/blast. in begin, if farming goes well, buy arcane ring, ppl like that, u benefit too

The best anti-caster hero to have set foot in dota.
A well-placed Netherward will screw over sentinel casters like Zeuz, Lina, Tinker, Rylai and even Earthshaker.
The key for a good game with Pugna is to wait for the opponent to pick, and if you see a lot of "weak" mana-intensive casters pick Pugna.
Then play him as a ward-bitch (referring to netherward).
You can easily shut down any caster-infested mid lane, and even solo top or bot if need be (not recommended though).

Go Netherblast/Netherward early levels.

For items I normally get boots of speed (Upgraded to Boots of Travel in due time), Mechanism and 3 bracers, and untill we get BoT always carry a tp in the 6 slot.
Mana is not really a problem for you due to the huge int gain therefore you are a good Mechanism carry, also Pugna hugely benefit from having a burst heal.

If the game keep on lasting Guinsoo and a plate mail is the way too go.

Don't play the decryp/dagon Pugna (level up decryp after you are done leveling up Nether-blast and -ward and ofc your ulti)
If you want a nuker then choose a nuker.
The way you play Pugna will alter the out-come out of game - A well played Pugna will secure you team dominance in both the ganking phase and in the team clashes.

Note that when people are saying "wp pugna" you have done your job incredibly well

He has such high starting movement speed for an intelligence character!

Sheep stick goes along quite well with life drain... first use decrepify, then use the nether blast, then turn them to sheep then drain their HP!

Very annoying ult, just look at the cooldown, 20 seconds,when u have low hp, jsut go to a high hp creep and just lifedrain, 20 sec is too short for such an imba ult. Most of all, HE HAS 4 INT GAIN!!! Holy the stat gain is imba

Hi guys i have a problem and i need your help can you tell me how can i beet with pugna crixalis at pvp answer fast thank you!!

I play him a lot.. And trust me, for pro games he needs lothars edge.

I know that this might sound a bit nooby, but i'm kinda new so anyways, heres the question: does anyone know if life drain is affected by the enemy's armour? will it do less if the enemy has better armour or not?

i dont know about armor but let me tell u this, the hood would make him useless and yes it would decrease the effects of oblivions ult. Btw anyone know why a boney character with not meat on him has such high ms

Pugna's pretty good. His decrepify makes his netherblast & ult imba IMO.
