the ulti cooldown is sooo long, end game its like every other lane battle you get to use it but its a pretty decent ulti. you definately have to buff your intel points. definately the best counter to warlock cause you can pop his infernal in 3 hits! necro book good 4 him.

Most important: give him a lot of INTELLIGENCE + HP!!! And some attack speed, and defense. So you need: SCEPTER, GUINSO, 2HYPERSTONE... (+1 Boots of Travel +1 Aegis) UNSTOPPABLE DESTROYER!! XD

u need lots and lots and lots of intel for this hero... refresher orb a must. can be easily beaten though with any hero with cranium basher and lothars.

PS - imo,the most underplayed and one of THE most powerful heroes of all time. Not a "lategame only" hero, he is devastating from late early game onwards.

get him a HoT, Sceptre, Boots, Hyperstone, and an EoS. Very hard to kill with these.

the first time i've ever played him i went from 0-4 to 9-4 and secund time i got 12-0 beyond godlike with him. He is nice with powert thread, dagon, mystic staff and hyper, 2 talisman but i go for 3 mystic and 1 hyper then ur unbeatable

Pretty good. I usually get Ring of regeneation, Power treads, one null talisman, Aghanims, and eye of skadi. By the time I'm working on building skadi, I already have over 2000 mana which adds to around a 200+ bonus damage. I usually learn astral imprisonment and essence aura first. Astral is great for harassment even though it never really does damage, always fun to drain intel, plus its great to use when you need to escape. Arcane orb is best learned during mid game since you have very little mana during early game. And ultimate owns almost any strength hero

ring of health and dagon is better than ring of regeneration (i dont know why u still bother) and null talisman (dont know either). u should get BoT, Dagon, aghanims, soul booster and guinsoo. Should u hav more gold, id buy EoS or Linkens.

arcane ring might be quite useful as well

man... you can literally go 3 aggahnims and just end up doing +500 dmg to his 120 base dmg. Then get 1 hyperstone. Not many can match up to his dmg. Maybe just disable him. He also owns images and summoned units, HE FKN OWNS WARLOCK AND HIS GAY ASS INFERNAL!!

try using 2 soul booster at start your attack is like having a divine and 1 power threads and you can kill any one as long as your lvl 13

He's just so good late game it's amazing. Guinsoo's, Aghanim's, Bloodstone, Linken's, Boots of Travel, and Skadi (Skadi only if I'm insanely rich, simply because of the great stat boosts and additional mana. If I'm low on money, I will build up Necronomicon or a second Eul's.) The larger your mana pool is, the more damage you deal. The more Intelligence you have, the more damage you deal. Get yourself a li'l AS boost and you can demolish any hero from afar.

Item-dependent, but with the necessary items becomes very IMBA. EG items mystic staff/aghanims/soul booster/scythe of vyse. For this hero mass soul booster/aghanims recommended for carry build. Scythe for support.

Refresher and mass aghanims is rapage on thsi hero

I get Refresher and EoS + items that increase my mana pool for Arcane Orb - I max out Arcane Orb and Essence Aura, and then just go to town on my attribute bonuses! If I'm facing more than one STR enemy I'll get the ulti around mid game, but if I'm facing all AGI or better yet INT, I'll wait until mid-late game to even bother with the ulti!

This is my favorite INT Hero in the game - he's monstrous at most stages of the game. Perhaps my favorite Hero in the game period! He can deal with just about anybody...

Ppl who take arcane orb instead of astral imprisonment in early game are indeed asking to be ganked. Pro players will definitely notice this. Imagine, an obsidian with totally no escape mechanism. Free gold for the taking. I don't understand the pt of taking arcane orb early game. With yr still pathetic mana, u can never seriously hurt the other side. Pls, farm for some items like aghanims 1st b4 thinking that u can hurt everyone immediately. He's very vulnerable until he has soul booster/euls if u didn't know.

When me and my semi-noob friends play 2v2, I get Perseverance early, then Aghanim's, then Hyperstone, and then EoS if the game lasts that long...
I've yet to own with this guy in online battles...but I make one hell of a sidekick, oh yes.

Still didn't get the ulti until mid/late game, though.

U can get it at lvl 6, but never depend 2 much on yr ultimate. And pls, no void stone/perseverance. He doesn't need it. Essence aura can bring it more mana than 4 or even 5 void stones will ever bring. Just manual cast arcane orb when u have the skill and watch essence triggered all the time.

i always only get lvl 1 imprisonment at early game for enemies who hav the same ms speed as me. if they has like 400 when i hav 350 or can spam blink or can slow, i will lvl that max asap. otherwise i just harass with orb and aura to make em flee. so i can farm in peace.

He is a difficult hero to use still...one of the hardest. Need to survive in early game to make a difference in late game if not you won't even have the money for one mystic staff

Late game with this hero i used my ult in there fountain and killed all five of there heroes. they had 2 strength and 3 agility heroes. I had three scepters. LOLZ

As far as i know to this hero is the higher your int to your opponents the more damage you inflicts to it.I havent try this hero so ill try to practice it.

Uh, this hero can start to suck if u die alot. In early game he should concentrate on survival than on hero kills. a true late gamer in my view. In the beggining it wont do much and if caught by stunners(sven, barathrum, skeleton, ect.) he be better of at the fountain not feeding anybody gold.Id say 2 mystic staffs by mid game is possible. With just i pawned gondar venomancer and rikimaru at full life. Uhm, is it true rikimaru has the smallest intelligence in DOTA?

The key to owning with this hero is to get power treads and hell lot of mystic staves.

I think his final is glitched, when my friend used it on my i had 24 int and he had 157 but the final only did like 300 damage to me, and it should do around 800 if not more. anyone else with this problem?

if u can farm heaps, start with boots and basilius and 3 mystics and aghanims, then sell the basilius and make as many aghanims with him as possible. mass hp and mana and intel.

5 aghanims = (5x500 mana) + (5x13x30mana)
= 2500 + 1950 + base mana pool = HOLY SHIT

but that requires uncanny farming so just try to farm as many aghanims as possible.

this hero is great i think. but why does naix at full health with good items are sitting duck for harbinger's ulti? no matter what naix do he will die. naix can only survived it if in avatar state.

to you schizopain naix have little int, have you read its ulti??? harbringr int - naix int mutiply with 14 at level 16, example harbringer int is 90 then naix is 23 (90-23=67 67x14=938) woah!!! best with astral imprisonment to increase your int and decrease naix int..

Some of you guys are getting your build wrong. Way wrong. For example..to do a very painful dmg...you have to add INT and mana. OK?! you guys are getting it wrong by buying arcane ring. Arcane Orb takes 9% of your mana pool and plusses it to your attack. SO IT IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO PLUS UR MP POOL!

So...do not buy arcane ring for this hero..or null...just remember.. plus mp and int a lot and ur unbeatable. I don't know why you guys want to buy HoT...cos HoT is more for strg heroes. Most of you are missing the point of this hero. ADD INT AND MP! Too bad i'm not telling my build.

INT and INT only. The only items harbinger should be getting past your basic boots/treads are null tallismans and Mystic Staves/Aghanim's Scepters. The only reason to get soul boosters for the scepter is if you need hp. Items like eye of skadi and guinsoo are nice but not worth what you spend. But buying multiple soul boosters is a mistake unless you really really need the extra hp. As far as damage is concerned, look at it this way. If improving your attack damage is your only concern (ignoring your ult)... a mystic staff costs 2900 and gives you +25 dmg and 9% of (25 x 13 = 325). This means +25(armor reduced) and +29(armor ignoring). A soul booster costs 3300 and gives you 9% of 400, or 37(armor ignoring). You spend more and get less. Now if you factor in that mana does not improve your ult, it should be clear that only intel is important.

Next, after level 5 or 6 ish, you should use your orb to last-hit creeps. Doing so makes harbinger one of the best farmers in the game. With his aura he can easily afford the mana-cost of the orb since 40% of the time he gets 1/4 of his mana back. You should NOT auto-cast the orb for the last hit, or you will only get 20% of the time (which you cannot afford). With harbinger you should outfarm almost any hero, and easily afford multiple mystic staves, making your ult and orb damage unstopable.

he will have much life , much inteliggence and much mana.
With the 3rd skill if you have intelligence enough you can set autocast for the first skill all the time, even in creeps.that's because 25% of the max mana will be more than the mana you lose until 3rd's skill activation.
Let's say you have 2500 mana , the 25% is 600+ mana = mana for 6 hits with the first skill. With 40% chance to activate the 3rd in 6 hits you will definetly activate it.

plus you can escape easily with the 2nd skill (and also steal intelligence).

with 4 aghanims and 1 guinsoo or dagon lv5 you can low down strength and agilities only with your ulti

Of course, you disable yourself and leave yourself very vunerable to ganks

Really expensive (not to mention sensitive) item build, plus he's utterly useless with little or no mana. Worst enemies are Anubarak, Nortrom, and Magina.

But pump this booger with void stones and energy boosters and the arcane orb will take down creeps and heroes like crazy. Effective counter against summoning heros such as Azwraith and Slithice.

Pretty much I like to focus on expanding his mana pool (for his orb) and his mana regen. I placed an Eye of Skadi on him and he kicked some major ass.

this hero is really overlooked. this guy will kill str and agi heroes since agi and str heroes have low intelligence. arcane orb will kill ur opponents if you have high mana, which you should. astral imprisonment owns with guinsoos. my build for this dude:

Nothing else that way you will hit WICKEDLY fast you will have great life and even greater mana and wicked int for ur ulti and still be able to run away from enemies if you have too but you shouldn't have too only vs stunners maybe or silencers ^^ Cuz with all that int and mana ur Arcane Orb will do such great dmg that you should be doing around 300-400+ dmg each hit and you hit 160% faster ^^ :) You get the point ;)

1.BoT - para naman bumilis bilis ung lakad mo, tsaka kung na pupush n kayo or magangbang k man ay may pang tele ka pauwi.

2.Linken's Sphere - since na ang problema nitong gagong to eh ung wala xang kunat. lagyan mo n xa ng linken pra nmn may png tapat xa sa mga gumagamit ng mlalakas na spell at sa mga stunners, tpos may bonus png regen at stats, ayos diba.

3.Orchid Malevolence - para meron kang additional na 40% sa attack speed mo meron k pang additional damage at meron k pang 25 int, tpos pwede mo isilence ung klbn mo gamit ung soulburn.

4.Shiva's - since n armor ang problema nito shiva's guard ang sagot sa problema mo dahil may +15 armor ka na may +30 int ka pa, tsaka kung sakaling kailangan mo tumakas o may hahabulin kng klbn pwede mo iactivate ung arctic blast pra mabawasan ng 40% ung MS nila.

In english:

1.BoT - u will need this for u to have a faster movement speed and the teleport skill is very usefull too, in case of gangbangs or if ur tower is being pushed u can use the teleport skill.

2.Linken's Sphere - since the main problem of harbringer is his low defense u will need a linken sphere, at least to survive those heroes with heavy nukes, and those heroes with stun. and it also has an additional mana regeneration and bonus stats.

3.Orchid Malevolence - u will need this so that you can have a faster attackspeed and it also gives +25 to ur int and it also has additional damage, and u can use soulburn to silence ur enemies.

4.Shiva's - because Harbringer has low armor u will need a shiva's guard to boost his armor, and it gives + 30 to ur int and u can activate the skill arctic blast that slows enemies MS by 40% in case that u need to escape an enemy or to chase one.

5.Aghanim's Scepter - It gives 30 to int +500 mana and 500 hp, and Harbringer won't need a HoT anymore because if you have to of these u'll have an additional 1000 to ur HP and u need this item to boost the damage of ur first skill.

SOME CORRECTIONS as usual for lupeman. Aghanim scepter does not improves ur ulti... And refresher is not a must. I will prove. Refresher costs 5575. 2 mystic staff can be bought with 5400. Refresher has a cd of 240 sec. ur ulti has a cd of 160 sec.Lets just say this OD at lvl 25 has 150 INT. Every 2 min 40 sec, it can uses its ulti once. However, every 4 mins, it has a extra ulti. So in 800 secs, it can ulti 5 times excatly. Adding refesher in, u can ulti another 3 times. Lets just say naix has 50 INT at lvl 25. The difference would be 14x. Thus
150x14 - 50x14 = 2100 - 700

1400 x 8 times would deal 11200 dmg in total .

Now, 2 mystic staff adds another 50 INT improving ur INT to 200.
200x14 - 50x14 = 2800 - 700
= 2100 dmg.
In 800 secs, 5 ulties.
2100 x 5 =10500 dmg.

The difference is only a mere 11200 - 10500 which is only 700 dmg after a difference of 3 ultis. Worth it?2 Mystic staff also adds 50 INT which is 50 dmg, and 650 mana. (1 INT = 13 mana)
Refresher hardlys add any intel other than the robe of the magi used in oblivion's construction. The additional 650 mana can be dealt as additional 58.5 damage. SO if whoevers is deciding refersher or mystic, pls choose wisely. Refresher is useful as 2 ultis can be cast at one time whereas 2 mystic staff iproves ur arcane orb and also deals a whole whooping 700 damage more per sanilty ecplise. (50 x14)

yup...10 int is alot...this hero ulyi is sort of weak early on until u get maybe 1 shiva guard and 1 orchid...

one the hero that gives a big ouch! believe me...don't fight this hero when his mana is over a 2000 and don't ever fight this hero when u have a lesser int more than 40...watch out str heroes..hahahaha!!

buy him 1 midas firt then 5 scpeters and 1 bloodstone (sell your midas afterward)
U gonna blast 700 pure dmg per hit and your ultimate will deal about 1500 on int heroes and double on others

THAT MEANS THE BEST ITEM and THE ONLY ITEM you should get is Aghanim Scepter.

why butterfly? - gives you armor(cause of AGI) attack speed, and evasion

He's kinda too item dependent.. especially requires a bunch of int for his ulti. Agahims is a waste for this guy as it doesn't improve the lvl of his ulti.. Any other thoughts beside mass mystic staffs?

Oops forget to add... he's not a noob friendly hero. Requires decent orbing and micro skillz besides knowing how to team properly.

Guinzoo works awesome for him, as it gives + 35 INT, + 10 AGI and + 10 STR; let us not forget the Hex

I remember when a friend 1st time intro me to Harbinger...I was up 1-on-1 against Clinkz at that time and i got my ulti . I kept firing Arcane Orb at him and then when his HP was below 1/3 I whacked him with my ulti...FIRST BLOOD!!Poor guy had no idea how he died.
