Good item Mid game, sucks as a late game weapon, unless played along with a good damage weapon (Example : MKB, Buriz) or with ShadowFiend, which will bring the armour decreament to -10armour.

Hmm i used this item for chen and worked pretty well for me. However, i agree you have to combine it with something damaging like what alve mentioned. MKB would be preferable.

It's terrible for Drow Ranger... doesn't stack with frost arrows.

yeah her frost arrows hardly stacks with anything but they are already so useful on their own!

Cos drow ranger got her frost arrows already and if you get an orb effect for her ranged attack, it won't work for her. Maybe unless when you did not auto-activate the frost arrows

I like this on lycan paired w/ radiance wolves and howl it reduces armor so radi n wolves deal more damage. this really helps against tidehunter since his kraken shell reduces dmg by 30 corruption is a good way to counter this (it takes away his armor not shell btw)

stygian desolator is very very nice for summoning heros like chen enigma... or heros like siren, geomance... its very nice to for heros that have high dmg and very fast atk speed and if the hero with that kind of abilities has stun that stops the hero for a time to hit it like 4 times like vengefull spirit or mirana... but its not my way to play i rarely use desolator

i cant think of anyone that can use this effectively... maybe nightstalker or axe.

his ulti already decreases armour and i dont think it stacks.

Okay Stygian pwns with nevermore and his aura. He's the only hero I'm good with because of this item.

A must for geomancer. Interferes with his geostrike but fortunately not with his clones'.

Ranged Eye of Skadi is NOT an orb effect, and stacks with some orb effects. I dunno, it could work. i havent tried.

ive tried skadi and desolator 4 vengeful spirit but it didnt stack... im using this 4 slardar and bone clinkz and it owns!!!

heroes with natural reduced armour skills + this + radiance and battlefury = ouch plus u get to farm as well cos if u target a hero, the creeps will attack u, cleave, immolation and natural area reduced armour will take care of it though

to explain why EoS and deso dont stack:

the general rule:
orb effects dont stack
you can only have one buff placer in per attack.

EoS ranged is not an orbg effect, but it is a buff placer. deso is orb, also a buff placer. both are buff placers so they dont stack

same goes for veno's poison sting
poison sting = not orb effect but buff placer
deso = orb effect and buff placer
hence poison sting and deso wont stack

i think i should not post this here but...

SnY = orb effect, maim is buff
poison sting = not orb effect, buff placers

SnY and poison sting stacks like this:
when maim triggers, no poison attack. else, you'll have poison attack
so there is 10% chance to maim, 90% poison attack

i dont think meepos clones can use items. but i havent played meepo since 6.41

i think that can work since wen the original meepo attks the desolator will activate...the other meepos dont have this in inventory so they do normal slowing damage.

IT does not stack with bones searing arrows but it's good to sacrifice that searing skill for stats if you're gonna get deso.

searings arrows arent that great unless used on buildings anyway.

stygian works like this.
You have it and attack the hero adn its armor is reduced so now ANY thing that attacks it does more damage as the armor reduction is teh heroes armor not your damage. This means if meepo gets stygian that once your main meepo starts atacking the armor s reduced so all the other meepos will do more damage dnot just the person with the stygians as the armor reduction is not specific with just the character holding the item. This is why people like to use it with furion because he can attack a number of times whilst the enemy is in the trees to do lots of damage adn if he manages to summon some treants to attack also they also do more damage as the armor is reduced. Also good with any illusin using characters as all the illusions will do more damage. GG.

I usually get this item on kardel with lothars. Sneak up behind a hero and jus keep firing away. They'll be dead b4 they realize you're behind them. This is all mid game btw.

uuuh, buy for Lanaya! her invis ownage, after corruption pwns, use her refraction to immediately get double kill FTW. Then buy Assault because it does stack, IASP and damage bonuses owns... l8 game, and mid game for those whoonly last till then. Happy Assasinating!

I think emer would not jump because it will indeed stack. Amplify + deso -armor..this way slardar will hurt you without strong items. But probably his team mates will hurt you with all the minus armor you have

Dude, this item is godly on Dirge. Get him this, and the Cuirass, then use Plauge. From there, just follow them along with your zombie minions. ;o

therefore, for Drow to utilize Deso,
She must hit with a normal attack (ofc w/ deso) every 5 secs. and a frost attack in between.

Yeah for Dwarven Sniper its good after you get the basic items...sniper can deal lots of damage with this one !!Its awesome but if you want a farmer/stealthy sniper Id rather recommend maelstorm so your attacks stay with the original graphics..with this item your attacks become coloured giving you away..it takes away snipers almost transparent attacks...its like taking off the silencer off a weapon in order to do more damage

**On a side note the chain ligthnings from maelstorm will give you away eventually but its worth it because its a chance based event!!

for people who are addicted to this item and 2nd orb effects try vlad + deso on melee heroes... lyfsteal and more dmg... just a personal experience though

ive seen ppl use this pretty well and its not expensive for 60 dmg... but corruption just means nothing to me

when is the armor is reduced to negative, does it mean the hero take more damage than what being dealed by the opponent?

i can't stand to sit here and see people that don't know what they're talking about ruin an amazing item. on top of the solid 60 damage, CORRUPTION is one of the best orbs in the game. negative armor amp goes like this. 2-(0.94)^A where A is the amount of armor reduced. with only a stygian desolator you would replace "A" with "6" giving you a total of 131% damage. EXTRA 31% damage! (not only for that item alone, but ALL of your base damage too). plug in 26 for a slardar and you'll shit a brick.

So from what jaywizzle is saying Nevermore with his third skill and a Styg and an Assault Cuirass should do +60% extra damage.. I Tried it, i put a Buriza and a Butterfly and a MKB and a Divine Rapier on and had 1526 critical damage, +600 damage and killed Tidehunter with 2 hits :))
