once i had 2 divine rapier on luna :O pretty awesome

i dont understand what does it mean drops upon death and cannot be dropped

It means that when you die, it drops on the floor... but you can´t drop or give it to another player/chicken/whatever while you´re alive.

so it will be a huge waste if i die right? thx king arthas!can you recommend me a good weapon for magnus??? before i equipped him with power threads,hyperstone,vanguard,linken's sphere,vladmir's offering and monkey king bar

I Think that on Magnataur, u could replace Valdmirs for Satanic and i think that Hearth of the Tarrasque wpuld be better on Magna than Hyperstone... Its what i think...

@Strint: Usually, when you make a Divine Rapier, you also get an Aegis of the Immortal, because if you drop it, it´s not only a waste of money... it could also mean the difference between vicotry and defeat (+250 damage is not something to joke about).
My build for Magnataur consists of Power Treads, Vladmir´s Offering, 2 Battle Furys, Tarrasque and then you can choose either Satanic, MKB, or Buriza... whatever suits you.

250+? hell no, especially if ur a strength hero and hav buriza. buriza = 2.2x damage so that would be 550. powertreads = more speed in the hands. butterfly = more speed in the hands, radiance = also more speed in the hands. if ur a stunner or can create images who can equip items, its just a very big bonus. so is manta style and cranium basher.

radiance doesn't give speed.

dude all the people left on my team so i bought two of them in a 2v1 match. i kicked ass one person was an archer and the other had hex (not good with names). i had like +535 damage and against week people. i pushed them out of the town and took the 4 remaining towers and the big tree with abaddon and his shield. i didn't die because of the shield and bowwored time.

u wouldve been screwed if u were versin axe, nightstalker, faceless void or skeleton king or the moment ur shield runs out, dwarven sniper, he can spam his ulti and ur definitely gone, no use tryin to flee cos he has a range of 2500 or something

What do you mean spam his ulti? A max of TWICE (refresher orb) is not SPAMMING. Plus if hes playing abaddon hes going to have like 3k health and at least 25% reduction from his armor(even if he didnt buy any armor buffs) So sniper wouldnt be much of a problem, ESPECIALLY with borrowed time.

First of all I think there is more to this item then most think. I personally think its overated, because it takes a long time, and lots of farming to get it. Yes it does have +250 damage, but when you do get it you know have a big and bright red target on your back If your opponents are somewhat good, and realize that you have a divine rapier, there is a good chance that they will do everything if not anything to take you down. Lets say they die in the process and do take you down, it was worth it to them, and you now have invested all that time and money into getting the damn item, that you wish you had a BF or MKB or radiance. Even if you have aegis, after 3 deaths you still lose it. I think investing 7800 gold it should be worth to you to at least keep it, but thats me.

Damn that aegis change. It's pretty useles to get dis now, unless you are a really good survivor.

you really dont need aegis with this if you have an ally nearby to pick it up and bring it back to ur fountain. I once was afk in a game for 5 or 10 min. and all my teammates left. and I was Beast master lvl20 enemys were brood, vengeful, phantom lancer, and another 1, all lvl 25 when i realized i came back to find half my base decimated and 15000 gold from my allys leaving! i was so happy i left my original build sold any incomlete item parts bought 2 of these with dual hyperstone + beast rage and 2 vitality boosters to protect my investment (roshan was dead and aegis was used) so they tryed to gank me i took them all out in 45 secs, lancers was trouble but i snapped his illusions 1 atk each thy take 300% dmg whats 500 x 5 o wait 1500 and i hit him once but he ran from me crippling with lance so i used my partenrs faceless void to chrono him so i could get ahead and own him cold. i ended up winning thatt game with 4 divines, 1 hyper, and aegis Roshan respawned yeay. xtra 2 divines courtesy of enemys foolish enough to atk me. with this item 4v1 haha bring it!

i see a flaw in that... u cannot stack that much unless u hav crazy above normal ms and aspd. u wouldnt be able to survive, even with the single charge aegis drop

Good item...but it took me hours of playing to accumulate enough money to buy 1..jesus christ! If you have one of these...Aegis is not neccesary

Try this, terrorblade with manta style and divine rapier, make images, never leave base and the images still get about +125 dmg and theres at least three, sometimes 4 of them.

Classy. Useful for speed heroes, but you'll need backup to pick it up in case you die. Give it to a shadowfiend and he can kill a heavily fed pudge in like .6 seconds -_- just make sure the enemy doesn't get it...

the age of DR-aegis in now gone.. no more farming for 45 mins then finish the game in 5 mins.. no more gay backdooring...

drops upon death...thats a negative for this item.

manuel - yes, King Leoric does not drop it if he has his ultimate. Drops if he does not have his ultimate.

other heroes: Lone Duid's bear drops DR when it dies but does not drop the Gem.

suggestions:
use this item preferrably with heroes that have HoT or Aegis. This item is not worthless because when used, 3-4 strikes kills the enemy. It really depends on two things:
1. skills as a player
2. skills as a team player

DotA is made for players to think.
I heard that Gondar, Ursaa Warrior, Leviathan were weak in our play area. Our team played them with Leviathan holding the Divine Rapier (sometimes Gondar holds it) and we proved players wrong.

u could probably just farm for this item and kill roshan a couple of times for the aegis drop then buy an empty bottle and fill it

juggernauts 8 slashes only deal 150-200 damage, regardless of what items u hav, if u get ASPD items and u get extra slashes, then u will get the divine rapiers damage

Only one word: DAMAGE

omni slash can be more than that, if his ATK speed is over 200% he does 2 hits per omnislash thingy , and 100% he does it every other hit.. so 1 ,2, 1, 2 you get the point.

does spectre drop this when she dies? i mean, she doesn drop gem and other stuff............

yeah, its pretty good on luna/techies especially if you have 2 divine rapiers. My advice is to get an aegis of the immortal so you won't drop it when you die.

^ no,divine doesn't drop when you have aegis in your inventory,because aegis "protects" you from eath.You aren't dead if you wear aegis.

aegis teleports u back to base with full health and mana. (old aegis only healed u to 1500 health, im not sure whether new aegis heals full)

i think this item is too powerful even for how much it costs. I think it should have something in it that makes your attacks slightly less acuurate or something so that people at least stand a chance against it. People that i play with farm from ages to get this item and whilst my team mates all keep running away in terror when they still might be able to kill tehm they allow another hero to farm it up as well so we had a mortred with one and a slithice with one and by that stage they both had lifesteal and a heart. It needs balancing or preferably to be removed.

Hey guys, if this thing isn't that good with Mortred then what is? I want uber damage dealing weapons that help me get high crits and kill the enemy in the few hits i get against him. And i don't want stuff like buriza that bug his crit and mkb with the critical overrided by the extra damage line of weapons. HoT is a fine item too...

yea its good on mortred. what i find funny bout this item, is that some people press "A" then launch their attacks instead of regularly clickn it and accidently attack the item instead of the item. instead 7800 gone haha. i hav witnessed someone attack their own sacred relic at base one time by accident. haha

Pwnage on Phantom Lancer. Get it sometime mid-game, and u will own. Also, well timed Doppelwalk should stop u dying and dropping it.

this item is scary... we almost lost a game once. my hero wud be bradwarden with power treads, HoT, cuirass, MoM, and a vanguard. i was owning dark terror at the time. but when my teammate(akasha) bought this item and died, dark terror picked up this rapier and went beyond crazy. i bought 2 blade mails with my bradwarden. and dark terrors item were rapier, butterfly, cuirass, power treads and mask of madness. from that moment on, my centaur warchief doesnt stand a chance with dark terror! good thing the creeps made the push to the mighty tree! hehehe.

is this item really worth it? its so expensive? why not buy to other items with +x amount of str to get this much attack. it would probably be cheaper.

i got boots with mag then got one of these used my empower buff and lol 371+ hehe my ult came in handy

There's actually a reason why DR drops on death...If you can keep it the entire game, it's IMBA...everyone will be farming to get this...that's why icefrog wanted this to drop on death to balance it all out...+250 damage at 7800 gold and at the risk of losing the item ewhen you die...see?

@ PlastiKMan: Images don't benefit from direct damage, so a divine wont give bonus damage on your images from Manta Style.So the damage of your images would be 35% of your base damage, plus whatever items you have that boosts your stats and which is not direct damage.

Anyway, divine is great for heroes who are really tough to kill. One hero on my mind right now is Pandaren. His ulti makes you survive. Very good for escaping.

When you die, you drop all the Rapiers you have; and yes an ally (or enemy) can pick them up, once trey are dropped

But if that enemy has the inventory full...he needs 1-2 seconds to drop a cheap item or a potion or something cheap and pick up Divine , in that 1-2 sec I think I can pick it up with my courier , of course he stay close to me before I attack that hero , and maybe he can't kill me , so no worries then

or ,I upgrade the courier to have mana and then buy a Dagon 1 and put it on the bird , and if I get killed , for sure that enemy hero doesn't have full HP ...I make the courier invurnerable , kill him with Dagon , if he is low on HP (let's say now he picked up the divine) and take back MY PRRRRECIOSSSSS

anyway ,the first I do when i have divine is : GET AEGIS ! when you have Aegis and Divine in inventory it's hard for an enemy hero to attack you and he must kill you TWICE ! that I think it's hard ! that's my point of view

this is an awesome item for leviathan the tide hunter, combined with hyperstone to get plenty of anchor smash. get those together and you can rape ANY opponent. even this pansy ass luna. xD

I hate this item, dropping on death is stupid.

I'm not saying it's bad because it's not, it's very strong and if you play right you wont ever die, but no matter how strong u are u cant take a whole team alone, so chances are your gonna lose it eventually, especially on a team with players who all want aegis and steal it from you (it's possible) which would make it easier to lose your oh so precious rapier faster then you can say "wtf nub stole my aegis" ya know?

give sven a 2x heart, SnY/Mom, Power Treads, B-fury, and Divine Rapier.. i was doing 1k damage per hit with gods strength on.. around 500-600 without.. hahaha...

what about meepo using this you could leave the main meepo by the fountain
