Abaddon...need I say more??

i prefer MoM than S&Y and MKB den going for 2 bashers..

This guide is okay. But I disagree on Vanguard in mid-game, since by the time that you said you would complete it, enemy heroes would already be doing close to 80-100 damage per attack, creeps dealing 35 on the average, so the blocking seems pointless. If you need HP regen, then Battlefury would be better.

Battlefury is another good items for abaddon. It adds damage, hp and mana regen which is really good for this guy.

you Must harrass nukers since lvl1, their hp is low, so use you aphotic and attack, when he runs, kills creeps, when he return aphotic again.

dont suggest basi in the early game. You would completely rely on your aphotic shield to do your bidding.

Enemies can just run away.
Also, they would regenerate their life after you regenerate your mana back. you will get pretty harassed.

although the +3 armor is very good. You should place vladimirs offering.

vanguard is good. ^_^ although enemies have a lot of damage, it blocks 35 damage. Its not mainly for the heroes, its for the creeps. Creeps this time will have 5 -27 damage.

and i prefer radiance befor mkb.

o ya and you should also watch out for mortred cuz for sum reason he seems to own this character

uhm to are you ready. I did get death coil before the stat...if you were talking to me. Also vanguard is one of the most useful items during the early game because it would provide high hp early in the game which would give your enemies an even harder time to kill you. Also it makes you almost immune to creep attacks. It also acts as a small HoT during the early game.

i suggest getting a battle fury rather than an MKB. You need the mana regen bcoz you're not only a hero killer you are also a supporter for your teammates bcoz of your aphotic shield and death coil.

wouldnt it make more sense to buy the Aegis and Rapier and Buriza combo? But then again... someone has to just use Guinsoo and ur rapier is dropped. u can use lothars to attack farmin n00bz from behind too. and uve blocked their path of fleeing so they r forced to fight u, but all u gotta do is cast ur shield and u will wipe them out, ur ulti is just for safety measures. EASY! and if ur ever in trouble, just use the Aegis ability to heal 1500 health HAHAHA!

any hero with an ulti of 500+ damage or with guinsoo can kill this guy, beware of dwarven sniper's ulti, u wont even see him kill u.

But I say Vanguard is a waste of money so early. Abaddon is a good farmer so radiance is preferred in place of vanguard. Then your H.O.T will also be completed very easily.

only get the vanguard if you need to heal, and not enough money and dont wanna save for heart

Abaddon is not a competetive type of hero. But he is fun to play with. He's a good farmer when you cast Aphotic shield on creeps and pretty hard to kill. But he doesn't compliment his team mates so leave this one if you're looking for a hero.

The build is ok. But instead of going for bracers, screw the bracers and head to treads and sange and yasha. If you have the money in late game buy radiance and you'll be a killer. Don't buy vanguard as it is a useless item. Vanguard is crap by the time you use it as heroes will be dealing 100 plus damage so the block is useless. Also Abading is already nearly impregnable. Treads, S&Y and radiance is his build.

Axe is a good friend as well!^^

This hero has awesome skills both in normal and dota.Wat i like most bout DeathKnight is u can deny urself with coil...thats soo pissin off after they use all their skills on u..and hats off to u if u get a kill with that coil!!!

i think dep_violator is quite rite. Go straight 4 s&y, plus treads, or better still, BoT. Helps on chasing a lot. Don't take blood coil early game. U don't hv the hp/mana to spam it.

i always when i battle against axe i use borrowed time the same moment he casts bersekers call so i take no damage then use aphotic shield and chase him

i wouldnt get threads...
i get boots of travel for chase and to run.
if you ultimate then tp you can tp without getting hurt....

Abaddon is not a nuker/assasin, but a leader of the team. He can lead the team to take down towers, shield teammates that are wounded, or use shield to force down enemy lanes. Depending on what kind of player you are, you will need different items. Treads and S&Y are going to be necessary for travel and attack speed. You will definitely need your team with you to have a successful game. Abaddon is strongest early and mid game. If the game lasts too long, abaddon will start losing his effectiveness.

Apothic + Deal coil helps you kill much better than apothic + frostmourne. A good abbadon doesn't solo but should have a lane partner.

just whack him when the creep's gone , when yer health low: borrowed time + apotic shield + death coil
if ye activate the apotic when you use borrowed time, the damage you take will heal you instead of hurting you

alright guide, imo abbadon is tank, and shouldnt focus on hero killing. He should coil and sheild his teammates and ult and run away, absorbing all of the damage, be careful of anything that does 400 dmg to you after dmg reduction because it negates your ult. ie. Lina's ult, Axe, or a Dagon lvl 4

simply activate your ulti before you are below 400 health, and axe cant cull you

^ that goes for any of the skills which do more than 400 damage, like laguna or finger or dagon - if you know they have it, simply activate it earlier. sometimes it is even good to use it very early in a battle - it cools down fast and you might be able to use it twice.

another thing you guys missed is that you can use deathcoil to burst your shield (since it damages you too), which means that you have a 525 damage nuke.

finally, i think the only thing that abaddon is missing to make him the ultimate hero is disables. so instead of getting more damage, why not get either bashers or sheepstick? thats what i do, to make him more complete

You have 1400 HP
He does another 200 dmg
You shield
He impales, attack until you have 1200HP
You Burrow time.
He uses Finger of death.
HE CRIES AND LEAVES!

Oh and, nice guide! I disagree about Vanguard. You could get a helm of Dominator in exchange, then later get a Mask of Death o.o

Abaddon is my fav hero in Dota. But once i got caught out fighting against Nessaj and Shendelzare. They keeping stunning me off my Borrowed Time. Then, I realized Abaddon's weakness. And so, BKB was the solution to it. Abaddon does struggle against stunners.

I've done it a million times. You get early damage, hit points, and with mourne, they rarely get away in early levels. To most of the above comments, if you guys stay on his item build, against most heroes it'l be a 80/20 chance you'll survive and win.

Buying butterfly isn't a good option since its cost much and would just throw you off your core build.

A lvl 2 shield at and around 900-1.1k Hp at level 2-4 would be kinda untouchable, since vanguard fits your left hand and saves your butt.

Staying back against a nuker.. till level 3 is not such a bad idea, but with around 700+ health, it wouldnt hurt if u ran against them with ur shield.

Staying back encourages people to push and taunt you, making you feel abit less-confident charging at them.

Observe what heroes the enemy is using, and if possible try checking wether they have stun/disable's that could hurt you. (you can never be tooo prepared.

MoM is a choice, S&Y is a must, its your main weapon, where u dish out the pain, and bring on the game. MoM is a choice, especialy at end game, where you should dominate. If you feel that u really wanna get double or triples, MoM is a good choice, since your shield has fast cooldown. 20% extra damage taken supports your shield in a different way, taking more damage meaning you're shield explodes and deals damage faster and with 2k + HP, you're nearly untouchable.

Battle fury isnt a realy great item for Abbadon, even though the mana regen, damage and splash is sweet, vanguard would be better, adding to your survivalbility and you're tanki-ness. Blocking of 30+ damage has proved its worth, saving butt off axe's counter helix and darkterror's ultimate (and always creeps) ^^

unless spell casters are bugging you.

EoS = Use its orb effect if enemies are getting away from you, by placing it into you're top left inventory corner.
The boost's are really sweet but after you're core build, you wont need it much.

Abaddon does not need it..... what for Froustmourne does maim the enemy as a sense that you pin them down with there speed


Sny gives MS...which you dont need treads solve that and so as BOT + 20% is deducted on the foe you whack....Which makes you already faster.


What you need to do is to build abaddon's damage making him A tank Dps hero. He is also a utility hero


1.Radiance- Synergies with Shield

2.MKB/Buriza/Bfly- Does not matter which one you get all of them are good.

3.HOT- this molds you to a tank

4.Currias- This indeed helps the team.


Please stop saying SNY ^^ 5000+ gold Small time Damage Wasted Movement speed and hardly noticiable HP boost? id rather get Radiance or Heart than that

i have a question.....I've been usin this strategy by faceless void for a minute now and its been lovely but whenever i face moon rider she slaughters me cuz she gets lifesteal and everytime i stay in and fight her she destroys me, i can get her early game but late game shes a monster its like the more i hit her the more health she gets so i decided to switch it up.....tonight i changed my build and i used power treads, buriza, battle fury, and vanguard and i destroyed everyone includin her......i looked on here and i see builds with battlefury and i see builds with buriza but none mixed together, was that dumb for me to add the both of them even though it worked?

alright i usually ALWAYS get fb with this hero on lvl 1 or 2, get shield and coil, put on shield - chase and hit any hero and since no dmg is inflicted with shield on even tower dmg, thus leaving u at full health and them at red or close, coil them = gg

dude u need to get at least a lvl 1 death coil... that way u can calculate the dmg done to ur shield and then u use death coil, timing it right so that it destoys ur shield. (basically use deathcoil to destoy ur shiled) that way u can kinda suprise them w/ dmg. btw my build is hearts, satanic, and a bot

this is a lifesteal build..... first build MoM and u wont have to go back to the fountain anymore... also note that apotic shield and borrowed time protects you from stunners, so you can own heroes without losing much hp (imagine vlad's and MoM! *lifesteal will stack, for vlad's lifesteal is a passive effect for melee).... heroes will desperatelly try to avoid being hit, even a single hit, by you... and with this build, i never got killed b4=)

you know i tried using desolater with this guy it helped me we were in a 2on3 match my friend was blood seeker and he is always the one who kills though on the last stand of our enemies i came down like a storm but man i have noob build:2HOT,PT,deso,and aegis from roshan but i am tanking my 3 oppoonents when my pal is farming

Abaddon makes good lane allies with these.

Abaddon + Dark Seer. Ion shell + Aphotic Shield. Exploding creeps.

Abaddon + Axe. Aphotic Shield + Berserker's Call + Culling Blade (Pwnage!)

Aphotic Shield. Not only they find it hard to kill you, they will hurt from it.. And when your shield runs out, avoid direct conflict in a 1v2 situation.

If they tried you when aphotic shield was up, simply get ready to target one player by attacking him and slowing him down. Keep biting until one dies.

Else simply wait for burrowed time to kick in and continue biting. If your borrowed time is up and you are dying, deny yourself with death coil.

It's pretty amazing.

I disagree that Axe is the biggest problem for Abaddon due to the ff reasons:

Counter helix TRIGGERS your aphotic shield - it would then take him two spins only to deal 275 on him.
- a smart Abaddon player would trigger borrowed time before he reaches 625HP and below. Also, cast aphotic to heal.

Abaddon's enemy is not Axe, but actually Rotunjere the Necromancer. He kills you far sooner from a farthe range.

i agree Axe is a no no for being the weakness of abaddon i fought against a axe user i just owned him although he boasts that he can kill me in an instant if i reach low HP what happened?i absorbed his damage when i reached low HP with Borrowed time+apothic shield he was shocked and went running to his friends for back-up and then they owned me haha i was still level 12 with faulty items not yet in full capacity to fight a 1v3 so i died good think i have aegis from Roshan which me and my partner killed earlier in our game^^

sorry for the double post but does voodoo really cancel the apothic shield of abaddon?cause when i played abaddon yesterday i was voodooed but after the voodoo my shield exploded is this a bug or does voodoo activate the shield instead of cancelling it?

Not a fan of S&Y here... I'd go for EoS instead of S&Y though it's about 2k more expensive. I find it worth it though, since it slows opponents constantly. I'd focus on pure brute strength and... thats about it. What abaddon really needs is his str stats. Mp isnt much of an issue since all you really need is aphotic shield. I disagree with your death coil build during mid game though. It doesnt do much at that stage. It just tickles. But then again, it heals too... so... anyway, great guide 9/10

ouch so strong!!! anyway, i once saw this guy playing 1 vs 5. he used abbadon and had a kills of 28 and deaths of 0.. so strong. he is level 25 while his enemy's highest level is 14. beyond GODLIKE!!!!!!!!!

while im typing this thing. im just watching at the pc beside me controlling abaddon. 1vs5 again but, as usual, beyond godlike in only 27 minutes. think about that!!

borrowde time is no match for culling blade and bersreker's call

abaddon can sort of own early game as long as he rushes boots and the enemy does not (because i note that many people get ROR instead of boots for staying in lane)

aft that just whack your opponent to death, using shield to help you tank dmg

replace treads with Hyperstone and BoT
Basher or complete Buriza

Max out shield and frost then coil.
No need for stats because of bracers
Always shield creeps to harass
only shield yourself if you can outrun the enemy for a kill

not only himm if necro use ulti on abba or lina or lion you are dead to

dude vangaurd aint only for a quick block buff its also a cheat efective hp regen and health increaser good strat

a nice trick, use the shield then attack the hero. all the creeps will attack you and your shield will break, dealing up to 275 damage to your opponent. this is really helpful early game if the enemy stays to fight

Watch out for doom bringer. Domm cancels out borrowed time. Btw, there's no need for sny or mkb. This is what you should buy: HEART OF TARRASQUE, or, HoT. What does it give you? pure damage with hp regen and a hell lotta extra hp. Radience is good but I'll get that later. BoT and hyperstone for me. He's unbeatable

Another thing to add. If you get Buriza, you MUST get manta. There's no point getting buriza without manta actually

His weakness is nukers... That's why I recommended Hood of Defiance...
Linken's Sphere can work in a similar fashion too... Also, if you reduce the damage from spells, you can keep track of your own life.. If after your ultimate has been activated and they still chasing you down with spells and such, Hood of Defiance is a life saver.. If your life drops below 125 damage, cast Death Coil and you can at least deny their kill on you

so what is the counter threat for Mogul Khan?

this strat is pretty good. but abbadon is a mana depending hero... it would be more wise to get bfury around lvl ten..bfury gives dmg, LOTSA mana, and cleaving. so bfury wud be swell for abbadon. personally, i prefer bfury than s and y for abbadon.and believe it or not,vanguard is pretty good, but it wouldnt be prioritary. since you have got aphotic. this is my build for him:
(in order)
Bracer.
Treads
Bracer
Bfury(pers. first)
Mkb
Radiance.
(sell bracers late game then get HoT, satanic

Go for Sange and Yasha but if your also looking for lifesteal, I suggest you buy Vladmir's Offering as it has no orb effect.
