why rush BoT?

since you're first core item is radiance, why dont you stick on boots of speed and save the gold for the sacred relic (recipe for BoT = 2200 gold).

surge will provide dark seer a good movement speed.

besides if he has radiance early, he can farm early. expensive items will be not a problem with good farming and with some patience.

at late game you have guinsoo
so you dont need the bottle
you should get heart of tarassque

heroes with passive area damage will benefit a lot on ion shell.

Needs some work, you've covered some areas but not all. You need to show some more detailed tactics with the skills I think. You also missed 2v2 situations in early game.
The important thing with Seer is that people don't understand him at all - people who don't understand him will probably have difficulty using this guide effectively. Skill tactics!
Again, the bits you have are good, but the areas you are missing are very important ones. I'll wait for an update, at this point I would say 8/10.

The pictures are a bit blurry, and killing tactics mid-late game are not outlined much. Other than that 8/10. You forgot to note that with Ion Shell, Surge, Radiance, Shiva's Guard and Guinsoo, you have outstanding DPS late game able to match against most other DPS heroes like Clinkz.

Well, good strategy there...
I think you need to work on the screenies at the beginning... The only screen where you actually show exactly where you should Vacuum is on the Wall of Replica one, and you said yourself you haven't mastered that one, so how do we know it works?
Item build is fine (I personally HATE the freaking bottle, but that's me), although in some cases you might want to consider getting at least a couple of bracers for your hp...

forgot to suggest something - sry. When fighting vs ranged heroes an ion shell on the ranged enemy creep often works wonders^^ and ion shell kinda disappears in tiny (often makes people wonder over their low health :P)

can you get copies of yourself and is there a limit to the number of illusions generated by a single hero?

My usual item build for him is:
2 bracers for begin, int threads, HoT, If the opponent team has 4 or more MELEE heroes, 2 blade mails (replacing the bracers). If othervice, Shiva and sheep stick, Assault and for the last item, another HoT. This seer is capable to kill night stalker at night with a high armor. 4k supporting hero isn't such a nice thing to see on the battleground.

Skill build goes somewhat like mine. But I've seen the radi kinda useless. Creep waves will die even without it. 9/10

The idea u use is almost the same as mine. I would get strength power treads for hp as well as a vangard, sins it will allow you to solo creep whit out losing any hp.If u are fighting 2 raged heroes in the early/ early-mid game and have Ion Shell and vaccum, at least at lvl 3, then u can use ion shell on a full hp enemy creep and then pull all the openest creep as well as then enemy heroes. That will hurt. It use a bit of mana taught

flodian, i think you should include in your guide that your best friend good old rooftrellen. You vacuum, ion shell a creep and he overgrowths, leaving them to take full damage of ion shell (and perhaps radiance).

Two vanguards sucks... Big time... Farm a HoT if you plan on tanking, which you shouldn't be doing either way...

Hmmm. Should state also that when using vaccum, can't click on unpassible terrain except for a few places in the sentinal area or some famous ward area where oppnents can be trapped. Hehe. Tried that b4 and they normally will leave =P
Lets see. 180dmg (vaccum) + 450dmg (ion shell) 6 secs from surge + 150dmg (shiva guard) = 780dmg
Not bad, something u can pull 1 shot from using the skills (lv4) correctly

I would definitely add Techies to the combos if you redo that area. Surge-Suicide, Vac-Suicide, Vac-Mines...

Although I assume your item builds are based solely on playing -em games. I'd like to see updates in the future for normal games - remember, you're getting less money then. Also, more detailed explanation on skill tactics would help new players undertand the DS better.

I therefore find the clones pretty much useless when you're defending. But like I said, everytime I get this guy, I play support. Good that you get surge at level 3. Bad thing is that it's useless as an escape skill against rupture. You need a better escape mechanism. I dunno... I tend to get a lothars and a mekasm to go support. Wow, a shivas and a dagon! Thats 840 damage based on skills. But I prefer threads to BoT due to the fact that he has surge, I get threads early game but BoT late.

But great allies, yup. Techies and sk. Excellent. And does vacuum suck only heroes in? or creeps too. If it's just the hero, then it'll be good for luna or yunero. Since it singles out the heroes for omnislash and eclipse. I'll try out this strat, It's a liiitle too odd for me, but it's worth a shot. Great job on the guide. Though outta your screenies, you only have 1 pic of "killing" a hero Anyway, great effort. 110 dmg per second with radiance btw. And btw have you tried out mjollnir?

the 20% chance of releasing a chain lightning is fantastic. It also greatly boosts your farming skills. And with static? It keeps melee enemies far far away from you. Anyway, uhh... 8.5/10. You could explain more in your guide, so I won't rate it just yet

Good strat for -em noob killer games but in a serious game the dark seer must be a support hero not a killer machine. Radiance is expensive and useless u are not the damage dealer in the team. I prefer necro3 the int and str bonuses are cool and think aboute it: ion shell on the blue necro...

You must be a newbie. Nulls are bought to give more mp and ring of regen's for lane control. These are cheap starting items and are bought mainly for early game. Same applies for the ironwood branches.

I think he might be referring to vacuum's large aoe nuke...

But actually, vacuum's good against none of the above mentioned heroes. It's better against heroes like sk which needs to remain under sandstorm to be invisible and broodmother which needs a web to likewise stay invisible. Vacuum shifts their position.

I guess items build is depend on your enemies. My last build for darkseer are necron, vladimir , orchid ,because we were against team of riki and bc . Necron is quite good for pushing combine with the wall .

And vacuum can be used to cancel channeling spell .

I quite disagree on some parts of your guide though it is quite informative. However, some mistakes to point out, guinsoo do not negate the armour. The armour of the hero is untouched. Well, not ur fault. Many dono abt tat too. Also, i quite disagree with ur good allies list. GOOD pls really state the good ones and not that can just about anycombo. HOw do they kill?

Dark seer is by no means sad...His skills are great assets to any team. But besides that, I do plan on updating my guide... the allies section is indeed sad... I will try to fix it to the best of my ability.

Hm .. :P You have no boots in any of your screenshots, I think I would suggest to get boots sometime before radiance.

Your item suggestions are ok, though I think lacking in HP. I would disagree with dagon as DS can deal lots of damage with shell / vacuum anyway.. I would say replace dagon by skadi and throw it somewhere in there.

I don't want to completely bash your suggestions because hey everyone can play differently, I like to see variety.

9/10 because of images, techniques, and builds.

I play a little different seeing as I have played seer 200 odd times. First items have been 1 stout sheild and 3 bottles for quick 400hp regen. After level 3, I can go neutral creep to let my lane partner solo level up. Also seer levels up just as fast as the teams solo when neutral creeping. I just prefer level 2 ion shell to kill creeps quicker.


Agree with your builds, and the order. They are great. I am yet to buy guinoo for seer

Seeing as Seer is melee I would much rather get a skadi. It helps him tank, and slows enemies. I've gotten vlads before too, thought it'd help the images.




My typical build is:

RADIANCE, SKADI, SHIVA, REFRESHER, TREADS STR, BATTLEFURY

seer can have alot of different builds.

I've got manta before rofl. Wall of replica + manta = dead enemy base

id keep surge lev2 for escapin.....and when against melee just ion shell on ur self and keep on the side of ur enemy...he cant farm or deny coz of ur ion shell....but if he attacks just vacuum him on the side of ur creeps allowing ur creeps to kill

Item build is only for 3v3 or 2v2 you cannot get all of that in 5v5 game.

Just a suggestion..

I don't think that radiance would be a good one if you re taking boots of travel.. Why? Because as you said, you have a very slow attack speed and the radiance gives additional attack damage so it won't be that of much help.. It would be stupid if you would spend more than 5k only for the immolation..

As some mentioned b4: get basilus first! You can stand alone vs 2 ranged for aeons! Perma-cast Ion Shell and take down masses of opponent creeps = lots of gold + pushes opponents back while you gain more and more xp. Surge saves you if needed. So skill this b4 vacuum since you will need the mana for Ion and you won´t need boots till mid game!

==> imba! -ms + aoe + vacuum = easy kills

Dagon, hex, radiance are good choise. But shiwa or assault is hard. because radiance + hex + dagon + boots of travel + assault = too expencive. Much money needed.

Aubbot he invis thing so, no it is not better then any other AOE except the big area on vacum. I just meant that it works.

I never tried but I think that if u put a lothar's edge to him it'd be good... look: ion shell ~ invisible ~ keep running close to the enemy well... I'm not so sure that it is as easy as I speak... I'd also make a eye of skadi instead of shiva's or even together with shiva's and to combine with the skadi I'd use treads, not travel........

I disagree with ya that Dark Seer hit slowly, the atk speed is enough for you to be close to your enemy while hitting skadi... nice strat anyway :)

one of the best not th best heroes in dota because of his skills there so versitile especialy is vacuum you can escape with this heroe if youre dying or the heroe cant escape because of his vacuum and surge plus with ion shell + radiance OUCH!!! il try to make a guide of darkseer a little different than this but you will get the same result OWNAGE!!!!

I got the hang of using vacuum recently and I realize this hero's huge late game potential. I agree with your build.

Well, I've changed my mind about the treads, its good on early (maybe mid game), but travel on late game is better, since the atk speed isn't so important as his mov. speed (only for skadi)...

I tried the lothar's.... it sucks, it'd only be good on early game, but you can't get enough money early so its not so good, only waste of money. Shiva's Guard, Eye of Skadi and Radiance are for sure the best itens for him.

i love this hero! during start of the game, i often cast ion shell to my last creep getting hit to push and without me getting hit, and when faced with 2 or more enemy hero, i cast ion shell to one of them to scare them off... lolz! i also cast it to my melee allied hero sometimes so i could get the kill randomly... lolz!

ion shell + vacuum can kill a wave of creeps! money is very easy with this guy, and surge is really a life saver!

i like the majority of ur strat but not a huge fan of the item build

ur melee with decent dmg so adding a bfury instead of bottle = mass regen so u have plenty of mana and life and ion / vac / cleave = entire wave of creeps dead in 2 seconds = mass gold for rad/ mkb (for attack speed and dmg) also i get treads over BoT cause surge = max move speed and seer really needs attack speed other then that i build him like a str hero meaning S&Y Vlads Rad MKB Bfury Treads of str

i like the majority of ur strat but not a huge fan of the item build

ur melee with decent dmg so adding a bfury instead of bottle = mass regen so u have plenty of mana and life and ion / vac / cleave = entire wave of creeps dead in 2 seconds = mass gold for rad/ mkb (for attack speed and dmg) also i get treads over BoT cause surge = max move speed and seer really needs attack speed other then that i build him like a str hero meaning S&Y Vlads Rad MKB Bfury Treads of str

I make 1-2 vanguard till the mid game and then i make ion shell to myyself and vacum everything near me

Also, as I have said many times, you attack speed SUCKS, thus it is probably better it hurt them really bad with one hit than to get attack speed items, due to the fact that doesnt matter how much you boost the attack speed your speed will still be dreadfuly slow...

lol? very bad explanation there. the main reason why no attspeed on ds early is cos hes a caster.

lol... u think dark seer is weak on 1on1 i saw a dark seer fight 1on1 with troll and dark seer won...

I usually start with vanguard and perseverence. This way in early game you can stand in the midst of creeps for full damage of ion shell

My items

1. sobi mask - he needs a lot of mana early game - good for farming
2. power tread - improves his speed
3. radiance
4. crystallis
5. buriza

ion shell & vacuum - his ultimate skills in killing

Also another strat,
iron shell an enemy creep, then vacume that creep and the enemy hero in to one spot.
Or you can iron shell yourself, then vacume them to you and attack them.

Nice guide, it deserves a 8/10... Mid game may be improved, as well as putting in some comments about other items... Oh, BoT in the begininng is not fair, just get radiance first and use some scrolls, it helps a lot in farming... And its not true u can't kill in the beginning, sometimes u only have to be a little brave and pick up surge sooner instead of vacuum :) good guide anyways!

id tell you to add some combos such as the lina combo, for example techies mine vacuum combo or lunas eclipse combo (suck the enemy far from others and let her eclipse do the trick)

anyways, gret strat, simple and clear

i thought the strategy was pretty good.I even understood the imporatnce of the ironwood branch.

do you mean that wlal of replica+vaccume is hard to ecexute? becasue this combo i used occasionlly so you get all enemy hero zoming through the wall. so you get a small army of images for your dirty work =],

same build as mine exept i dont get curias, i go a heart so i can have a bit of good survivability as he has an o.k hp regen base.

Great guide, I would suggest to make a section (in conclusion) with potential combos. For example, Suicide+Vaccum, Vaccum onto Remote Mines, etc.

Why did you take 1 level of surge first at lvl 2??? I dont understand the logic there, because in the time it tkas you to cast it you could have walked at least half the distance you will with surge. Wouldnt an extra level of vacuum be better so you can nuke at lvl 3 instead of 4?

i got HOLY SHIT with this items.....

i think its actually the best if you solo with Ish, cause he can ion shell the opposing creeps and they will wear down gradually, even when against two opponents

well darkseer doest need boots..u only need to get surge first and make and orchid malevolence to get a ot of mana, damage anda AS, also vlad is a good item at a early game so make it first.
ate the end u should make a skadi
shiva is a good option but assault cuirass is problallly much better for him,
i never make dagon for him but i dont know if itsd a good option, u can usa vaccum to get enemyes closer or puting them at the midle of tres (melee heros)

i guess vangurd can be a gud item for him as he cud tank wid ion shell and gets some hp too wid regen..
radicane is a good item too..gud wid vacumm and ion..

very nice, however i would add refresher orb to double up on wall, very powerful combo wall-vacuum-refresher-wall-vacuum. many many images yay.

dont you need vanguard???
you'll take less damage and iron shell+radiance will pay more for your enemy...
