Pushing early is generally bad. I know the goal of DOTA is to destroy the throne/tree but pushing early doesn't make it easier. It's rare to see people allowing you to push all the way through early game and all early pushing ever does is to render an entire lane useless to your allies while giving your opponents a free lane to farm. That is definitely not team play if you hoard all the gold in one lane all to yourself. --To be continued

It seems like to you that lane control is about pushing but just because you can push well doesn't mean you can control the lane. Spamming fire storm kills your allies faster than it kills your enemies. All of the heroes that you mentioned as good lane partners will eventually become food if they continue to lane with you. And don't just say that you can simply solo, any hero with AOE nukes can out solo you and believe me those heroes are not hard to find. You kill all his creeps he kills yours.

Why not stick to a support role. You can afford to learn pit of malice just as long as you don't spam fire storm and with that you can your partner can kill heroes together/farm peacefully/and gank early. That way you can do your job as a team player. You strategy I'm afraid only works in solo play.

the early push thing is pitlords specialty coz late game he sucks hehe. He shines mid game coz he has the item and damage advantage so we need to utilize his pushing skill. fire storm is the only source of mone, without it pitlord is lame in farming and I can't just rely on last hit coz i'm too laaaazzy hehe. Thnks a lot (wave) wooo!

shiva,BOT,guinsioo,HoT,skadi
last item is either HoD,linkens or radiance depending on the opponents. i dont understand why you get manta too...
about the last vid:the P lancer was really noob...you wouldnt have killed him the first few times if he doople and ran when hes at low hp.

Congrats boi! 10/10 for this guide. A simple but very detailed one. This the guide that caught my attention thats why I voted for you as the 1st. For manta, I guess you're just aiming for the diffusal blade and later convert it to manta for added hp and extra push! I love firestorm and I also keep spamming it after I read this guide and it rocks. True that azgalor isn't that effective late game but his Pit of Malice and Guinsoo. Nice one!

this early game pushing strategy is gibberish... sure you`ll have radiance, persaverance, etc by the end of 20-25 minute, but that`s just selfish, and barney`s a suport hero...

I find that getting a shivas is better than linkins. It gives you armor and mana with a cool active skill. Get a ring if you need the hp regen. I haven't said this many times but this guide is almost perfect.

This guide is sweet. Very informative to those who underestimate this hero. The firestorm guide is key. The vids are amazing. Good job.

Okay, first Perservearance adds MANA REGEN, HP REGEN and 6 DAMAGE. According to Battlefury the added damage could be useful... Firestorm is mainly used for farming and harrassing. The ease of taking down a hero is properly using this. Well can you help?

Perseverance is flexible.
You can build Battlefury - your choice
You can build Linken - my choice hehe
You can disassemble it and build Guinsoo for the Void Stone. Vanguard or HoD for the Ring of Health.

What fwii said about the early push early game is just his opinion and I respect that. I'm much comfortable with early push coz PL sucks late game unlike other popular late gamers. you need to end the game as early as possible otherwise, your dead meat!

Early push is being able to destroy the rax early, killing all the towers in a lane by yourself is not an early push it just draining a lane out of all it's resources. Your allies can't farm in that lane since they'll have to go too close to the enemy base while your enemies can have creep waves delivered straight to their base. That's what makes late gamers farm. If you wanna prevent late gamers from controlling the game constant ganks is the way to go. Early push can only be done with a team.

why radiance than battle fury when pit lord need mana regeneration because he has 3-4 active spell?

well written guide but the problem is with the content. more importantly your way of playing pitlord (as effective as it is) requires cooperative allies, and bad enemies. otherwise you will be ganked at lvl 3 by 2 assassins. not to mention not getting pit of malice means you have NO defense mechanism. your attacked, you cast firestorm, you get eaten. and pit of malice is really handy in ganks.

Looks like the people like it as well as we did. Pit Lord really needs a spotlight, since I've seen a lot of negative response on him. Pit lord is a very good 5th hero to round off any blind spots in your team. Good job, sir.

My personal preference would be fixing his mana base (usually euls), then letting the imagination fly.

Best address the issues on early pushing being brought up in the comments...

get some circlets and branches, and at lvl 8 you can deal massive damage with Firestorm and expulsion, after that upgrade 2 bracers and max Malice!
For 26 of mana you will sacrifice 80dmg per corpse early?

yea man! FINALLY someone who uses pit to push early game. Most people just don't see the benefits of an additional 300 gold early. Besides, pit isn't a late gamer anyway. Wished youd show more instructions on how to actually use dark rift and expulse. Your videos usually don't seem to have you using expulse. Nice job, you don't over emphasise on stuff people don't want to know.

i find youre style good if you want a fast game... not letting the game drag on to long for the lategamers to dominate...

and IMO the best partner in a lane early is a nuker(mostly INT types or early gamers) since having lategamers near you will end their careers early XD. unlike nukers which usually just needs exp to level up and own early...

This is a lot like how i play him, but, the item build isnt at all similar, i usually carry the team and put survival above all else, the only items i get in any of your builds are BoT, and very situationally necro book or mek. I guess if it works for you, though.

I cant believe this guide got #1. Unless you play in a very lowskilled pub this style will make yourself useless to the team and probably feeding to any opponent team with some map awareness.
Why do you even bother creep blocking if you gonna push with firestorm? Pushing a lance early will get you ganked from mid around level 4-6 if mid has solo. And since u dont skill pit you have no chance to escape...

The skillbuild is only semi usefull if you jungle early. If you are in a lane it is important to skill pit first and never use firestorm unless they are pushing hard (newbies) or you can get a kill (unlikely). You have to stay close to tower. If you have a ranged mate last hitting shouldnt be a problem to make money due to his decent attack damage.
And 5.5k for Mantastyle that you mostly use for escaping... no comment :)

In the description of the skill pit of malice u say that: "It delays and halts your enemy causing them unable to move nor attack for 3 seconds"
In my experience i can still attack while in the pit... at least thats how i got a kill. Maybe the attack orb of furion was already send... could anyone clarify please ?

i played pit lord using this strategy for the first time and i kick ass, out of all the strategy i've used from this site, this pit lord strategy is definitely my no 1 favorite

you can only attack while in pit of malice if only you were attacking him when pitlord cast pit of malice... i think this is bug...

hey dude..congrats u won..but i think u won this thing too easily..everyone knows hw to play with pit lord..n wat all items he can get coz he's a gr8 farmer..n those who dont like the ones who r postin here..r just noobs..

gettin down to more serious issues..isnt shivas guard..be more effective than ur man regen..pit lord armor is so less..very vulnerable to physical damage..just like tiny..he surely needs somethin to boost his armor..shivas guard is best.

moreover with shivas..u have gr8er mana pool..n gr8er man regen...plus the frrzin blast to slow down runnin enemies..n give damage..plus the -25% attack speed aura for enemies..nothin can be more team gamer than this...start with basillus ring n complete ur shiva..after shiva u wont need to worry abt ur mana...so plzz make it a must to make shiva...u will eventually make heart..for this so it will give hp regen..n assualt..after shiva n assualt ur armor will be around 35.

35 armor n heart..it will be the tiresome job to kill u

Hey I agree with you, its a pretty good hero, mostly used for support and pushing.
But it can kill too! 9/10 because in the videos I saw...you were killing newbs..like that centaur or the phantom that came in black life just to get 1 hit and die.

Wow your stategy is amazing it works perfectly and plays too all of pit lords strengths though your descriptions seemed to continue off too the right into the black. This combo is just perfect but i swapped the manta for a battlefury because it suits my style of play and more domination of the creeps which = more money thankyou very much i hope to random pitlord so i can teach these non believers a lesson!

A good alternative skill build can be Expulsion+Atributes or Expulsion+Firestorm,both lead to nice early frags or deadly harrasing..I tested this only once but i can say - If your opponent won't send Omni or Rooftrellen to opose you,ouch then..
In Mid game let's expand our combo to Pit-Firestorm-Expulsion on enemy heroes in middle of creeps.Pitlord must get a frag,unless Furion/Zeus lasted them or you did something wrong..

Why do you creep block? You want his creeps in your tower's range so you can kill more creeps than him

Why don't you auto attack creeps and only last hit? Because you don't want to push the lane, and if you push the lane, you're giving free exp everytime that sometimes cause a 2 level diff.

TIPS: How to escape a 1 vs. 5 gank even with stunners?

-Linken will block the first stun/disable
-Cast Dark Rift on the Mini-map (on your base)
-Activate Manta (for confuse)
-Cast Pit of Malice to block ur enemy

VOILA! Sweet escape!

Always remember, be quick!

I have allready read many GUIDeS and Techniques.
some of them are GOOD i think..
But OPPENENTS can easily COUNTER PIT LORD.
An OCHID can SILINCE him.. That will be a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to FIRST KILL THE SUPPORT.. or the HERO THAT is GRAGILE.. B'coz PIT LORD was in silince he can't HELP OUT.

the screen shots are fakes... why did he cover the items? B'cuz he greedisgood 99999999 and hit the tower

As for the rest of the scrrenshots... save it and take a closer look... u will see the neutral camps are visible (blue dots there which means ISEEDEADPEOPLE has been entered...)

^you obviously havent seen any replay before. there is a button that allows you to see everything on the map. unless you've tried pit lord, you will never know its insane farming ability and those items are totally possible for pit lord

This can block 5 enemy at a time.. Really useful no need any allies

some of your strategies are good, yet some are not.. and also your gameplay is not quite good.. and i saw the vidoes really bad.. your opponents are such very noob..

and you farmed radiance + perse in 22 minutes?? that sucks.. cause in tournament fights.. i can farm guinsoo + shivas + BoT in 24 minutes..

very well said.. i used to equip my pit lord with dagon5 and arcane ring coz i know making battlefury is not necessary but still having linken sphere when your enemy is dwarven sniper or heroes with MKB no chance, linken will come to a waste anyweiz ur items is base on enmy heroes... still 10/10..

Hey nice guide here..just was wondering yea...since expulsion has lower mana cost and taking into consideration that 5 creeps on both side would equals to 200dmg at lvl 1...i mean considering the fact that ur positioning is accurate such that it takes up as much creeps as possible...personally i prefer firestorm...but just wondering abt the change in skill build

Nice guide... BUT i prefer to go for expulsion instead of firestorm... Once one creep dies you have the whole wave.. And its very good for harassing because of its huge range.

pit lord is close to nothing without good items

But the enemy still had me 2 vs 1 s I was just about to get satanic instead of hot and bfury instead of radi when the game ended.

Very good strategy, I would suggest one point in Dark Rift (at 8 lvl) to avoid potential ganks, and getting Pit of malice at level 6+ .

This hero is for fun lol, he got the biggest size in Dota...if i'm not wrong. Think Icefrog should make him more balance a bit by improving his UTI CAST CD or maybe movement speed ~320ms..else he is 1st target kena aimed lol

I will definately agre that pit is an amazingly good farmer. My mate has gotten radi in 13 mins with him before. Just have a question about all the heros that you've mention as pwning you in late game. I dont think most of them are a major threat, as you have a 4 second delay on your ult, and its possible that they spend 3 of those seconds trapped. I doubt anyone can kill in 1

It's basically, Pit Lord farms early game so much that he gets obese of gold.

Then he buys radiance and whatever he wishes.

I personally prefer radiance and necronomicon on him. Always buy your extra money with observer wards if you know how to play with them.

i tried your build several times and manta is a great tool for pushing.... and escaping too.... but i have to say that boots of travel should be the first advance item to build followed by radiance and quiras..luv it... congrats

(my new fave hero btw, lol) now i know how to pwnder sack with him! no wonder you got first place! and about the item build i usually get the int talisman instead of ring of basilus, cuz i like the extra stats that way u can also skip one level of stats and get pit instead that way u have atlist a 1.5 sec delay on ur enemys early game.

But 12 killz, lvl 25 first, dude Azgalor is the best farmer.. Better than brood, azwraith and even Meepo

If u use exp then some players wont back off, thus letting u have less last hits (T_T QQ CRY WHINE!)
