I like this guide.. but for me silence is very important so i dunno why you pick it 2,3,4 lvl so late game. 8/10

now to my constructive comments
I recommend you get frost arrows at lvl 1 instead of trushot aura since it will allow you to orb walk the enemy from the first wave

agree with getting 1 lvl of silence only

agree with maxing trueshot aura first

you need to emphasize orb walking more during early game, since frost arrows are so cheap, you can more or less spam them easily

would almost recommend focusing on orb walking the opponent rather than last hitting, why? if the opponent has to go heal then you are in the lane and can last hit deny without any competition, also allows for a lvl gap

you might want to consider life steal for traxex in the late game, why because the frost arrows loose some of their potency and because Traxex doesn't have too much hp (yes HoT helps but not enough) the life steal when combined with her amazing dps will allow you to steal

I suggest that most people don't take trueshot early on for multiple reasons:
1) She's fragile, and getting stats can help your survivability, allowing you to farm and harass better early
2) Aura's are for pushing, which is one of the last things you want to do early game.
3) a % amount of low damage is a small bonus, as such what you get from the aura isn't worth putting points into early.
My skill build would be:
1)frost 2)silence 3,4,5)stats and then however u want to build her.

back life fast and take down even tanks

for this reason I would suggest getting Satanic rather than HoT since when you cast frost arrows they will override the lifesteal so you can use either effect when you want to (if they are staying to fight or if they are running)

once you get lothars you can go around ganking with your allies (rather than farming mid game) since you will have amazing dps already and a slow so the enemy can't run away but can't fight you and win

somewhat agree with BoT over treads but it is more personal preference since she's an agi hero with powerful dps

an unwanted effect from your aura is that your creeps will push some (since your range creep will be doing more damage) so you might want to add something in early game about not pushing very far into the enemy territory

you should cover hero killing a little better, especially when you have lothars, you should also over ganking too and who initiates, who attacks etc.

pic of animation helps a lot as does the exact numbers you've given

you don't really want to creep block on the lanes you've chosen because if you do then their creeps will get killed fast by the tower (which you will have to compete with and it has more dmg) and then your creeps will go all the way back to their tower (which again is not in your favor, especially since it will atack you)

hope these comments helped, great guide so far but

I find the fact that everything is in the middle and its all purple a strain on the eyes. The strategy could have concentrated more on orb walking and harrasing as she harrases extremely well. I disagree with the AC as it is redundant for her. The butterfly will suffice. You also should have emphasized on her usefulness in team battles. 6.5/10 which is..rounded off, 7/10

1 - trends (dont waste you boots with BoT)
2 - Lothar (Really good item since u dont have much hp)
3 - butterfly (DAMMIT dont put the god dammit HoT!! She is agi for crist sake)
4 - hiperstone (there is no need for assault armor)
5 - if u are dying to much buy a dadger of scape now, if ure good grab a buriza
6 - Linken sphere to save u from stuns

trends will boost speed and aspd, lotar is a good scape, buterfly grant u higher survival, hiper for aspd, buriza for the kills, linken for stun

I still suggest gettin PT instead of BoT, Her dmg is insane, with more aspd her dmg output is just gona own, she doesnt need to farm whole game, she needs to hunt down enemy heroes. Radinace's immolation and dmg increase helps a lot in hero killing. Combined with loathers

Aura first is very bad :( even stat or silence is better.

Silence because Drow is a common target for FB, and stat because it gives hp and damage. Aura only gives the same damage.

Anyway BKB is a good choice on this hero.

Since all there great guides started appearing (never,invoker,pit etc.) i have pretty high expectations on the hero guides.First show screen's how to harass and at the part with the creep puling there is no screen (or at least i can't see one).Second i slightly disagree with the skill build,i prefer having rank 2 frost arrow's before maxing the aura,with an good lane-mate and the 20% slow you can get an kill.Third tarex is an carry hero so BoT dosen't advantage her (continuing...)

like PT dose.Fourth Magina is no permbasher,he has no bashing skills (true he can get bashers(thing that i find stupid)but if he dosen't then hes no basher) and you did not include bara at the permbashers.Fift i find Mkb better on tarex that butterfly so i get that first.Sixt i rate this guide 6-6.510 at the moment

Great guide, but I prefer Silence before stats. My opinion though.

Okay well first of all drow has no nuke the only spell she can harass with is her frost arrows and your skill build maxes it out at lvl 10 which i dont think will work. I think it should be maxed out faster and silence is the key spell to this hero because unlike other dps heroes drow can prevent heroes from disabling her. Therefore you can have 1000 atk but its worthless if your stunned or shackled

why not make a guide w/ a hero that takes skill to play?

BoT of treads can be highly debateable, it depends on the progress of your game/farming, if you're farming slowly or dying too much, get a tread, if you're farming fine, then get a BoT.

Butterfly would be the better first item instead of MKB, getting MKB first if rather...stupid, butterfly/radiance(not for drow in this case) is a better rush item than mkb, as it has better benefits and all, so i kinda agree, though i won't rate the guide.

I never liked Traxex. She's just a n00b. You didn't add Anub'arak and Lion as most hated enemies. Anub'arak can harass early game and even completely dry up your mana pool. No mana, no Traxex. Plus he has impale for your ass. Lion has mana drain and impale but mana drain gives him more mana, so there will be more impale and then more pain! That's just early game.

this guide is a straight up joke

folecheno + amp basically covered everything.

i also disprove of GG branch stacking, while it is the most cost effective stat booster, really look at priorities.

if you care about survivability that much you can always go stats+trueshot with one level of cold arrows to harass with. (anyway thats my build bias out of the way)

i also disapprove you your orb hatred.
but thats my other drow build... 4orber (5 if you count skadi as an orb)

this guide sucks how can u harass early game if you dont maximize the frost arows and silence early on and i'll recomend butterfly Mkb loithars tp boots buriza and another butterfly u cant build a divine rapier for your hero is to weak (low life)

Contrary to everything you guys are saying, you only need one level of Frost Arrows to harass - only the slow is improved, and thats only necessary for killing (totally different to harassing). The orb-walking section you have is helpful. However, I am confused as to why you mention rushing Lothars... then the Lothars disappears from the late-game build completely? I agree with Amp that Cuirass isn't needed for Drow.

Once again I feel theres little in here, but Drow is point and click... 8/10

Shimrra_3 is right, Drow remains point and click. As for the warding section, this should only be for early game, right? Drow has lothar's later on and unless they spam sentry wards or have a gem, you're easily going to get away. (you probably still are due to incr. movementspeed and level 1 of silence.) I do think you need to max frost arrows first though; it's what makes Drow, Drow. Silence is nice but only level one should be obtained until mid game. As for TS aura.....

"This skill is very powerful if you know how to utilize its full potential."

Unless you're going to come up with some gamebreaking explanation on how you can unlock it's "Full Potential!!!" I'm afraid I'm not impressed. lol. It's an aura, yes, it boosts ranged attacks, yes. Get it in conjuction with ranged heroes or when you feel you're missing firepower.

Silence is the best skill ever, I don't take trueshootaura before I've maxed that and frost. Isn't nessesery.

Assault and Heart are pointless for Drow if you're going to be getting lothars. You dont need the HP if you can go invis and run away, you'd be much better off getting another butterfly to help kill faster. Also the aura from the assault will give away your position making lothars only useful for escaping

Why not a single level of Frost Arrows at level one for the slim chance of a first blood?

And surely Silence at level two helps your chances of a first blood and means that Traxex is safer, sooner.

Also, if you're getting Trueshot Aura early (a very contended point), why not take it along with stats - boosting Traxex's survivability and damage?

Two more points of criticism/questions about the skill build;

Why max Frost Arrows early? Traxex's role is to carry hard for her team and rice farm a Damage item as soon as possible - she shouldn't be leaving her lane to gank until level 14/15...

The added disable from extra levels of Silence help immensely, expecially when big team clashes occur mid - late game.
Why isn't it leveled immeadiately after level 16?

Now, on to criticism about the item build...

i) Traxex is a Carry, she shouldn't be buying wards - ever. Get your local Chen/VS to fufil that duty.

ii) Please explain your reasoning for BoT over PT - Traxex isn't a backdoorer, so why the BoT?

The stat gain from PT also boost her hitpoints an appreciable amount.

iii) Surely you're not suggesting BoT before Lothars? The item build is a bit convuluted.

iv) Why haven't you mentioned EoS in items not to acquire - some people don't know it doesn't stack with Frost Arrows.

PSD...

v)*Blerg, my bad about the BoT/PT argument - didn't read closely enough. But surely several TP scrolls suffice - also, your team should be warding up your lane as you're their carry. Also your Frost arrows should slow them down enough so that you can chase.

vi) Traxex doesn't need AC, as so many previous posters mentioned.

vii) No mention of BKB as an extension item?

Finally, could you pleas fix up your grammar and spelling - it doesnt hurt, but it does hurt my eyes =).

nice guide, drow has always been a fav hero of mine since shes so easy to play imo....1st hero i ever picked was this chick and some "pro" told me to go with s+y...looking back on that i seem to disagree with that..does any1 miss the old drow with the REALLY useful ult? i cant help but feel like the old drow is more useful in terms of farming/pushing/defending ESPECIALLY when the creeps have over 500 life

o yea a fun build for drow is:

treads
3wraiths
buriza
2 butterflies (no intention of stacking
evasion, just the 140 dmg and attack speed is cool)

(gotta say tho, your final build seems to idealistic and generic)

some toilet paper
and ussually dosent last much longer after the 1st butterfly is done

err... may i suggest satanic instead of heart... I know everyone will rush telling me that I am noob but here is how i do it.

with your high damage and fast attack speed, life steal will insure your surivavbility in front of other high dpsrs, when the other hero realizes he will lose the fight, switch to frost arrows before he runs away (by autocast as orb walking will not work)

MKB chanche with Divine Reaper :) for more dmg you have Heart and Assaut No need more attack speed ,becouse you have cold arrow you will have +175 more :) and very fast from butter and assaut

I don't usually add silence that early, depending on who i'm laned up against. Otherwise, 1 to frost, and the rest to stats and aura till lvl 10. Thats when I add frost and begin to gank. Anyway, yes ring of regen is good. But not for travex. She's a harrasser and therefore shouldnt be harrassed. Use frost arros to keep the enemies at bay.

Btw, your build's kinda odd. Assault is completely off. You're mostly a solo hero killer, therefore the aura isnt exactly needed. You're also agility based which already extremely high dps... Therefore it's ruled out. And I prefer buriza over mkb. Mkb isnt exactly needed either. Anyway, yes, threads over bot. You need that starting aspd. You could change it to a BoT late game. Otherwise, dont bother getting bot early

I like ur guide. Its always nice with screenshots. The skillbuild is OK. Itembuild is Ok. Dont think u need curiass. Crystalis should be made just after u finished Lothars. Its abvouis that butter is better then monkey. Well, HoT is good for lifeboosting but there are cheeper alternetives. Lifesteeeling works really well and makes Traxxe even more IMBA. You will get 9/10. well dun M8

You need linkens for spamming silence and Frost Arrows. The 6/sec hp is also essential.

I don't know why you people avoid linken, coz you don't want to go back to fountain innecessantly and you cant expect regen at river....

orb-walking is not only about animation cancelling, it's also about attacking your enemy without attracting his creeps to attack you. it's like "safe" potshots.

i am strongly opposed to maxing aura first as the damage increase isn't worth the wait for big silence or l33t slow...

you should take into account no em games, as they are the 'real' games.. so maxing silence at such late game is silly, and the 40% slow is very very useful for ganking.

i guess yours might be okay for no em games, as you lvl get to lvl 16 in like 15 mins.. idk

3.Butterfly

I honestly don't think it's easy to farm more than this in a non-em game, but Linken's Sphere is another item worth considering.
A question to all Drow users:
Is EoS really a bad choice for Drow? Whats the difference between EoS and Frost Arrows?
EoS also gives bonus stats, hence maybe you could skip HoT, dunno

Pathetic guide, and yes i agree, 6/10 top.

Aura gives u like + 10 dmg max at start, so i would rather go bonus + frost arrows (5x bonus = +10 all stats = + 10dmg) which is alot better than skilling aura at start, and nice that u skilled silence lvl.1 at start since it's enough for 1-12 lvl, but lategame, believe me, u'll need it at lvl.4.
And since when is razor a good harasser ?.
And your item build pretty much sux aswell as anything else, and believe me, mjollnir does stack with arrows...

Hmm i've been playing drow a lot.. silence at 23 24 25?? its one of the most important skills... i'd say your build is for late game and late game only.

No offense but seriosly, this is hardly a guide. You explain Early pretty well but Mid is all about wards and gems and Late is only items/enemies/allies. That's all basics, really. Applies to all heroes and hasn't really got anything to do with Traxex specifically.
Sure she is a rather simple hero, but this needs some rework. How should we play her after the end of Earlygame?
I also disagree with your skillbuild as aura isn't that helpful when there's no dmg to boost, but that's just imo.

Too much ^_^. It's getting annoying at some point. Specialy on the item list, where you have one on each description.

Depending on who you are fighting, silence level 4 can be very important. Being chased by an hero with a stun or a nuke, only a 3 second silence is not enough. Most heroes still have a chance of killing you. Zeus or Lion wont be annoyed by this, and they are hard to beat in early-mid game.

most of your late game section should be in the conclusions section (imo)

way too many items, you should take them out or make them into groups (dps group, hp/survival group etc.)

way too many hero icons under each enemy section, just use 3-4 of the steroetypes in each category

lycan is not a permabasher anymore (after 6.53)

why do you talk about wards? Traxex shouldn't be getting the wards, and getting wards to fight the wards against your Lothars is just stupid

it's better to mass bracers rather than wraith since you need the hp more

you should take about orb walking vs autocasting and when each is more useful

you have lots of orb in the don't get section, those only apply if you are using frost arrows, as long as you don't autocast you can switch back and forth to get both effects

oops, let me correct myself. Aura isnt much of a use earlier. Stats, silence and frost is the way to go. Aura however is useful if you're lined up with razor or something. Though the damage increment is... say you've 40 damage. 7% of that? Fail.

I agree, HoT is a waste on Traxxex, isntead just get a braclet or sumthin, I rather prefer having a merck, coz, it helps you in a lot of situations. Normally I wud go for BKB coz even with crystalis the damage is high enough to last till end of mid game. Curiass is good on her. skill build is ok, but I wud rather put one point to frozen arrow till lvl 7-10 and put some in stats.

Meant to say burizok. Anyways, the items suggested is only if the game doesnt prolong. The items mentioned is suffucient to last till mid game atleast and is much cheaper to come up with. Items with orb effects such as SnY or even satanic is a waste for traxxex coz she really doest need it. I prefer BoTs over threads coz it gives more mobility at late games. Good guide though it could be improved. especially item build, but its only my oppinion.

heyy, sorry im not agree w/ your item build, she doesnt need tarrasque because she dont need to tank, her enemy will die before she have to tank, so i suggest linken(against nuker) over tarrasque, also buy a crystalis first to greatly improve your dps

Skadi makes her IMBA IMO but except for that silence (I prefer to max it out till lvl 11 to disable in a team clash 5 v 5) thing nice guide :)

Skadi vs. Frost Arrows:
Skadi: -20% AS and -30% MS, no Mana Cost
Frost Arrows: -20fi AS and -40% MS, 12 mana/hit
Skadi: +25 all stats
Frost Arrows: No stat bonus
I think that Skadi >> Frost Arrows, but only end of Mid Game to Late Game.
Frost arrows are sufficient to get kills rest of the time
Skadi is useful when you're against mana burners, or are out of mana
So, I'll leave it to you guys to decide if Skadi is better..

Skadi costs 6650 gold. Frost arrow costs 0 gold. I'll leave that up to you to decide which is better

Agree with those two. The primary reason to get Skadi is the Frost attack, why bother when we already have the one that costs a mere four skill points.

I don't think this guide could help a certain Drow Ranger become strong. You have 3 late games items it's like impossible to farm on all 3. PLus buying a ring of regen and selling it later is kind of stupid. In that way, 1 drow may already have been own several times and cannot build it's items. Plus, you favor Trueshot over Ice Shot, now teach me how you are going to haress hero enough if they are some nuker? And Stats over silence, you know how effective long time silence is to aid your team?

sir i think that you forgot to add huskar on the list of the meanies. lvl1 bs+tangoes+very low hp=pwnge. huskar is very imba in early game.

this is my item build for DR:
PT=very flexible because if im running extremely low on health then i can just convert it from agi to str then flee.
Lothar's Edge=your ganking and escaping tool.
Butterfly=well this makes traxex a hot dpser plus the slow.
Scroll of Town Portal=never leave the base without this.
MKB=IAS and pierce.
Vanguard.

i forgot to add i still have the sixth slot empty. now if you are the godlike in the game better get that aegis or try out the life steal drow but remember that the slow will not work anymore because it's like a naix with a forever slow frost arrows is not a orb but think about it slow+life steal+high dps that's crazy. if you don't believe me then try it out.

this guide needs to be improve. i wish there are more screenies of how to use traxex in all situations. 6/10

You should get 2 Bracers because of Traxex's low hp.

And usually I learn Trueshot Aura on Midgame because at early game, the damage gained is pretty low. It's better to put some stats (it also gives damage, huh?)

I think getting frost and silence early is better. This will help you harass nukers easily.

In my way of playing, i like to buy mkb first than butterfly! cuz, mkb gives lots of dmg, and its a butt n those mini-stuns are a butt at mid-game... And i didn't get silence skill, cuz i think its useless... But overall its great!! hehe...

Its very dissappointing that the author of this guide have not responded to most of the critisism. I think the previous two guides for dota is much better in that way. PLs put more screen shots and give more explanation for your items and skill point distribution.

The items suggested is for late (veryyy late) gamer. I would rather work on this build.

1.Burizok (for 2.2x)/MKB (mini stun)
2.Butterfly (evasaion, +AS)
3.BoT (MS/teleport) or TP (depending on the situation)
4.Agi Bracers (strt of the game)
5.Balisk ring (early on 4 mana+armour=cheap)
6.Merc(cheaper than HoT) N definitely last till end of mid game.
With this build YOU finish the game in mid game.(if u played well).
Anyways wish the author wud take us seriousy n edit this strat

Hmm, if you buy Orchid Malevolence this woman can really be a bitch...

With Orchid you are able to constantly spam the frost arrows without losing mana at all. + it gives dmg and ias + soul burn (amp.dmg and silence 4 sec)

Orchid, Butterfly, Buriza and you are unstoppable

Orchid is a terrible item to get. For the same price you can get Eaglehorn, Quarterstaff and have gold left over to continue saving for the recipe.

The creator is one of those guys who creates a guide then forgets about it.

Your item build is weird author. I dont see the need to get HoT. Traxex is always known to have Low HP but Massive attack dmg. And generally from my experiences by the time you have lothars and butterfly, the game should be almost over. IMO i would go 2 wraiths, treads, lothars, butterfly and then buriza. AND silence is very important as well. wouldnt advise to leave that till late game.

^ he gets silence at lvl 3, the difference between 3 seconds and 4 seconds and 5 seconds is not that much so the stats are much better used for other skills early game

this guide is good for a starter. still, there are lots of errors that need to be corrected. but the author is not responding after two weeks. too bad.

YES!! 5 wraith band will give u more damage than 5 blade of attack. this is because trueshot aura increase ur damage by ur stats.so getting manta if u have butterfly and lothar is workable due to illusion damage is base on stats.So, getting 2 butterfly 1 lothar 1 agi threads and 1 manta will give u 301damage +81 damage(includes base agi and ulti already). and manta illusion will deal 120 damage(+base? i not sure about tat ppl will just die b4 i can calculate)to be continued...

sh!t calculation error!trueshot damage+ agi should be 173 damage and not 301 damage.Sry ,MY fault!lets say my base is 110 damage permanently, i will deal (110+173+81)=364damage and illusion will deal 40% of ur agi = 2* 120= 240 total damage per second will be 364+240=604damage(estimated only,not reduce by armor)and ur hp will be like 1.66* or 1.33* more(depending on ur opponent luck to hit 2 or 1 illusion at the two try)Who dare say manta is not good (except for PA who is damage based)

plus early game Drow can easily own regardless of her LOW hp
if your solo and get a couple of kills around LVL 7 you can easily silence and gank mid then top.

Once you have done this farm your lothars, do it all over again, then butterfly buriza GG (wraiths optional)

MANTA HAS A BUG!!!i call out 3 frost dragon form for dk using manta.hold shift and press shortcut key and then manta .this works for quite a number of hero like old version of lycan dk and TB?(i nv try b4)

its not a bad guide, althought just getting level 1 frost arrows wont slow them that much but it sure is a good harrassing skill and its annoying too. i think drow should rush lothars though since she is very very vulnerable with quite a good dps (glass cannon). i dont think drow needs buriza she already has high damage. imo i would just get mkb. buriza is very expensive and not very necessary. 8.5/10

Skill build: Max frost arrows early, get one silence, and one stats level. Don't max your aura early, the damage is not worth getting it. Save it for later.

It's not really necessary to go with a HoT, I usually start with stats until I get enough hp.

Did you say HEART? OMG?!? Oo Dude, by the time you get that, it'll be of almost NO use to ya. If you REALLY want it, get it right after Butterfly. As for MKB, I think Buriza is currently the best item to get as a luxury. With her ASPD, you'll be dishing out 700+ crits every 2-3 hits.

If you are SO paranoid about survivability, get Satanic instead. Most players I know will stand and fight, and of course, eventually die in the end.

PS, If you are facing imba DPS-ers, go for Mjolnir. Get a Butterfly for the ASPD boost and evasion. Give yourself Static Buff and watch them electrocute themselves to death.
