Dazzle Your Enemies

Informative, items look ok, well formatted, but i dont know dazzle really well so rate after more comments.

Well i believe you really took out what makes dazzle such a good hero (IMO) and that is that he doesn't really need allies to own (unlike other supporters)
You should have a little more independence with him, you can't be hugging your allies the whole game....
Plus, i've seen dazzle
own 1v1 own...
You just need a desolator in there and you're set...
Try to leave the wave out of the skill build until you (as you said) actually HAVE the mana to spam it....
Until then, keep the weave+poison touch combo to kill the heroes that might be a problem for you.....
It's a good guide, but only if you want to live through your allies, which is not my idea of fun...

great strategy, lots of information, the only thing I do not like is, you should add more things in your conclusion and getting a Vlad's on Dazzle is very very weird, even if I you think of it as an optional item 9/10 !

Hi, your strategy is awesome if you are super boring and just like to follow everyone around, it's a brilliantly set out guide, and i like the way you explain everything but i personally think Dazzle can be a hero killer. But not a bad guide 8/10

dazzle is an xtremmely nice hero killer i got 17/4 with him, and i aint nah no pro (triple negative work it out) he is a battle int hero extreme int gain per lvl also MKB is good+skadi=GG

I tend to max two abilities (sometimes above getting ult, depends) but Dazzle may just be one of those that needs to have variation. Good items, besides VLADS *shudder*. Good strategy. I'm going to rate after more comments. Oh, they originally had SG as a permanent buff, its been lowered and now put back.

I was actually expecting a good amount of people to advocate a Hero Killer Dazzle with Deso, and I do sympathize. Just like any hero can be played multiple ways, there are different ways to play Dazzle. This is my preferred way.

As for the Vlad's, I did say I didn't recommend it ;) But I see a strong reaction against it, I may edit and remove it. (Just was looking for something to turn Sobi into, y'know :P)

As to hero killing dazzle, (deso/skadi/mkb) , i mean c'mon, which hero in dota cannot own with deso/mkb/skadi, even kotl can!!

A nice tip on using Poison Touch.

Before you cast it, use Weave on the target first, then wait for ONE second. Then cast poison touch.

Why do this? Poison touch deals PHYSICAL DAMAGE, so when combined with Weave, the damage taken by the target per second will be increased, since its armor is being lowered at the same time.

Support Dazzle. Guide is short and sweet, to the point, nails down most concerns on dazzle.

I personally endorse Dazzle's potential as a killer hero, though. In the vein that having support skills doesn't mean you're a support hero. You will always serve to support the team, since you have the heal and the debuffs to do so, but you are perfectly capable of claiming the kill without it being killstealing.

Desolator IS a support Item, just not as obvious, and maybe, better off on other heroes. Everyone in the team benefits from a more vulnerable opponent. Just a POV shift. another look at an item is Guinsoo as a Killer item. +60 damage(on an INT hero) and 3 second hex, 3 seconds of freely beating someone sounds killer to me.

I was about to write a novel on this comment, but erased it to save the space and to not rant on the page. Gist is, Dazzle is very flexible, gameplay and item-wise. Play in the way you feel gives you the most fun.

Its a good and very "easy to understand" strategy. Lots of pictures to help.

I usually get dagon to get some nuke dmg and maybe sheepstick for better disable. Mana isn't really necessary since he gets +3.4!! int/lvl.

Good strat, standard support build and well written.

You could of added this little combo: When the enemy is trying to run from your creeps, Poison Touch him and when he stops and the creeps start hitting him, immediately use Shadow Wave and he'll take massive damage =3 Although I never knew that Weave could be cast on allies >< I love Dazzle and you haven't done anything to change my mind about him :) In fact you've made me like him even more XD I give this guide a 10/10

@Everyone who supports a hero-killer Dazzle, next time I get him I'll try for that sort of build. I suppose something like:

2x Bracers
Desolator
Guinsoo
BoT

And for a skill build go Poison Touch/Weave.

Anyways I'll try that method and post about it later.

@Tokemus, you can't Poison Touch and then Weave right after, Weave takes time to work. When going for a gank you Weave from a distance before the enemy really knows that they're getting ganked, then you move in to Poison Touch and by that time they've lost armor.

This is alright but I will let you know dazzle can be a pretty good 1v1 hero. His shadow wave if used correctly can do a huge amount of dmg to heros surrounded by your creeps. Once dmged (or before) poison him and weave him and start your offensive push and attack. Your item selections look good though.

Instead of Skadi u make Desolator, wich is a lot cheapper and will add more damage to ur Curiass and Weave ability. Ive owned with dazzle with this combo. The rest is good.

I reckon this guide's gone through enough now, no major criticism so I say 10/10.
To add to the discussion, I would say that farming any of the following as your first major item makes Dazzle very, very dangerous: Guinsoo, Desolator, Maelstrom/Mjollnir, Skadi. Because of his flexibility, any lvl4 item would work very well (with the obvious exceptions) with Dazzle.

stop asking for deso even though it helps alot it costs to much u need survivebility if u want to play him dps try going monkey king first and then butterfly and heart i play him like that but for a support build its a gr8 strat nice work

i use mkb , buriza , cuirass , treads , bloodstone/HoT , n wateva depending on situation , then juss spam poison touch and weave then kill kill kill .... he has good dmg growth , n im no pro ... but wif atkspd and more dmgin items this guy usually owns ... well 1 n 1 .. his weave makes it easier to kill high hp heros , poison touch to hold em for a few good seconds, and his atk speed is really fast wif good atk spd items .... dazzle can last from 2 - 3 heros depending on da heros .... im noob but yeh .. but this actually works

@ Whisperstorm: A Support Dazzle build needs BoT not Treads, cause he's not DPS. You could also get Arcane purely for adding on to others' mana, so you have the Mek/Arc combo, but you need Void until you get Skadi. I'll add Arcane as an optional maybe.

@ Dazzle Hero Killer Supporters: I tried out Dazzle in some APEM games. Went bracers, void, treads, deso...I just didn't find that it worked. Maybe it was just me but I think he's waaay too gankable. I would like to see a Dazzle Hero Killer guide written, but for this one I'm going to stick with Support. You just don't die as much if you're at the back of the group, casting all your spells nonstop. With Deso you have to actually be in attack range and that makes you vulnerable. I can see that if someone dominated with Dazzle right from the start they might be able to pull this off, but IMO you need a friggin' HoT to make Dazzle combative.

Anyway I will plan on updating this strat soon based on feedback:

-Remove Vlad's as optional item
-Add Arcane Ring as optional item
-Replace Eul's with Guinsoo as optional item
-Discuss Hero-Killer Dazzle, go into Deso vs. Skadi more, explain preferences and tactics
-Alter Skill Build to leave out Wave until later (I found that Poison Touch/Weave made an excellent combo, will discuss)

Just one thing i wanted to clarify....
Being a killer dazzle doesn't mean going on your own like rambo, killing everything you see, you need your allies of course.....
But what i meant was that he can sure as hell kill many on a team battle or out of it, but when you get yourself with a couple of allies then you become like way more dangerous....
I wanted that clear so no one goes thinking of making a suicide killer dazzle

Erm i guss its an OK support build, but when i play dazzle, I do warrior form. Another important item is stygian desolater it really reducts armor with weave.

dazzle is by far one of the best hero killer. many people dont see it but dazzles shadow wave is probaly the strongest nuke in the game. as well as poison touch can slow why you own them with bruzia.

a good ally for dazzle is squeen and spleen grave then suicide

Skadi>Desolator
They both act as support by armor reduction/slow but Skadi will give you survivability and mana. Pro players will go for you since you are support, one of the reasons your allies will be strong is because of your support. Grave is only a back up plan, some will think that grave is an excuse to die but you're just feeding the enemy since the enemy, since you respawn quicker you feed them quicker and that damage to the killer doesn't help much.

@ Deso Supporters: I don't think you need Deso as Dazzle, you already have Weave for -16 armor, and to use Deso you have to continually fire at a target, which is BAD for Dazz's health when it's a team battle. Sure, 1v1 could pull it off but...the team battles are where Dazzle's abilities shine, and in those if the enemy team is decent they will catch you, nail you down and own you if you get too close. And 2 bracers only gives +12 Str, whereas Skadi gives +25.

@ Guinsoo Supporters: Personally I think Skadi's survival help is more required by Dazz at first. You can Poison Touch to stun, after all. But I do see the importance of this and when I edit I'll bring it up as a prominent item.

@ Shadow Wave Nukers: Um...Shadow Wave is not a nuke, really. It relies on the enemy being in melee range of multiple creeps, and that your wave his those creeps. The damage aspect of it is like an ubernerfed version of Soul Rip that you can't even aim.

@ Rambol: Ty for agreeing with me on Skadi, I find that even with 2x bracers you're very vulnerable. That's why I prefer Skadi. And I didn't know there was another Dazzle guide, I'd like to see a guide that explains Hero Killer Dazzle fully.

Hazzle is awesome hero, but Hazzle has a high int++/level... Wid just 3 sobi mask you rule the creep...

Damage Dazzles rule. As everyone is saying deso owns in synergy with weave. However i wouldnt get weave early but thats just my opinion. Dazzle is also more of a damage hero so on top of a deso i would be inclined to get a radiance or something along those lines. Otherwise this guide is pretty good. 7/10

also good allies are allies with images/diables like slithice meepo and nessaj because they all can dissable the enmy and get images within range for shadow wave to get its full potency and they rely on their normal attack for damage so weave helps them alot

Erm, i dun really play a support dazzle... well, 1 suggestion for the sobi mask is to turn into guinsoo lo...
I normally go for a battle/killer dazzle due to its high base dmg.
In relation to its appropreiate orb effect item, i believe a variety is beta. As in, u already have slow from poison touch, so no need sny or skadi. Then have weave le, so no need deso.
With guinsoo, u should be able to perfectly cast ur poison touch twice in a row with around 1-2 sec interval.
Skadi is still ok la, but it juz takes too long to make, and getting guinsoo early game would really help to kill/ support kills.

So he can farm very well so that he will got items early. Go for stygian, then HoT, then MKB.

I got 3 double kills with this.

You say that dazzle needs all 3 skills, but then add things like "You shouldn't use Shadow Weave very often until you get Void Stone" and "I wouldn't use Weave at all unless you're going for a hero kill."


A support dazzle won't be going for a hero kill very often, so why do I have weave? and if I'm not using wave very often early, why did i put points into it? Your tactics seem to suggest a touch + stats skill build, or at least touch + weave.

Item build is fine for a support dazzle, but use of skills and skill build is pedestrian and unimaginative, failing to use dazzle to his full potential.

Also, too short. Good for a first guide.

In more recent play I've discovered that a Touch/Weave skill build is superior to an all-round one because, yes, Wave shouldn't be used early game. When I get around to editing this I will fix up that point.

A Support Dazzle actually goes for Hero Kills quite a bit...just, with allies. That's why you need Weave. My point was more that it doesn't do very much at low levels, so don't try to use it to harass with until it's higher level...and then, wait 5 seconds or so before Touching.

Hey. I muself like Dazzle a lot. I experienced with him a lot and had nearly decided Poison Touching killer is best for him. Maybe it is and maybe it is more fun but i still think Dazzle is going to be a support hero with me from now on. I think.......

I disagree strongly on your methods and question your experience conserning this hero. I agree that he is infact a weak INT hero. However, you fail to comunicate in this guide that he has his own creative methods of killing. You also blatently ignor Shadow Wave and do not accuratly protray it as what it realy is, a killer. I also disagree with your one level of Weave earlygame. Because armor is not definite or important in the early stages of the game. Every hero in dota is capable of being a killing machine and Dazzle, is no exeption.

I dont know iv never tried that build b4 and usally my build owns them no matter who they are.. ROB, Mek, Boots,Sheepstick,Eye, burize and that just owns them i should try out ur build one of these days i liked it alot very imformative oh btw i dont get weave may sound noobish but i never found a good use for it ne ways i never get into a late game with dazzle i always own them or my team does..

The thing that u guys shouldnt forget is that he's basically a support hero, then, he can also be a hero killer, but he wont kill if he's alone.. well he could be but ur oppenent has to be noob.. so yeah i would go with deso also.. and i would go with arcanne ring instead of ring of basilius.. and i would go for tread at beggning.. and late game get BoT and huhh.. of course ur skill build isnt good at all.. get poison touch and weave at beggning.. and then.. at lvl 7, u can now go for shadow wave.. and huhh.. never be the first going in the battle.. ure better to stay behind, but not too far, cuz u'll have to poison touch him.. well.. Man good guide besides the lack of some great items for the hero.Also you can't expect everyone to fight the tank in front of u.Probably it will be for 1 fight then the next fight someone more fragile is the victim.Items:
1.Power treads
2.Skadi
3.Monkey
4.Satanic
5.Assault curiant
6.HoT/or Bouriza you will be owning even 1v1 because the great amount of armor you'll have,so cast Weave to your enemy plus the armor reduction from the Assault and make them bonus damege with every hit.

Hey I'm sorta new at this but I put deso on this hero currias and deso is it any good?

nice strat but the idea of being incapable to win almost any kind of duel makes me mad.
Especially when you can get to +16 armour on yourself or -16 on the other one.
Deso is the way. It sure is as you won't have to wait much time before attacking and the bonus truly helps. With it, it is possible to down almost any int hero in 5 or 6 hits (even storm with 2500+ hp is no match for you).
The early skill build depends of the hero you're facing. If range Poison touch, if melee, wAve is too good.
But beware when you're facing stealth heroes, especially the BH (you'll be a free kill for him ANYTIME)
And you definitely need 2 bracers : so
-boots
-bracer
-PT
-bracer
-Deso
Don't forget some clarity potions whenever you return to base.

then it's up to the game to decide what you need.

A sure shot kill 4 him or Mortred with Bash or Crtical hit and you cud heal the tank regularly with Mechasm and Wave only when reqd when many enemy creeps are present.Got it?........

I was once spectating a 2 vs 2 game where
,there were all these new heroes:
Huskar , Storm spirit vs Undying , Dazzle
It was quite a one sided match.
Scourge team owned the creeps and towers in no time.
Undying zombies and Dazzle waves really raised quite an army for poor Sacred warrior and Raijin.They were stranded in their base not being able to do any thing .I think new heroes in DOTA really change games;dont they??

nc strategy.. that was also my strategy..
but we differ in putting shadow wave that poison touch.. (for melee heroe enemies only..)
b'coz when they are melee they tend to get near the creeps to attack..
therefore, u can cast ur shadow wave on your creeps to heal them also to damage the hero..
it's an ouch for your enemy.. i swear..
also dazzle is a good farmer with shadow wave.. of course a good pusher..

try it.. max ur shadow wave with an melee hero enemy.. and u can gap ur levels..

nice strat, but i tried something else which i think works even better in start and mid game.
You don't really need poison touch and weave in the beginning, since you don't really have that much power to kill heroes. So i go for Shadow Wave and stats points untill level 6, only after that i start to put points in the other skills, first poison touch, and after level 11 weave. Meanwhile you make lots of money with your Shadow Wave -> just use it to kill low hp creeps or to lower opponents heroes life. In mid game go for stygian desolator and after that scythe and then whatever you think will be necessary. Of course, the items depend very much on the opponents heroes, but usually a styg works better in mid game and also is less expensive than skadi.

I also buy cristalis .... for the dmg^^

for your info the vlad's life steal only works on melee heroes

Very nice item guide. I personally tried all the other items. Sheep stick, deso, MKB. None are all to effective.(unless u got skadi already) But skadi seems to work the best. A little dmg and slow goes a long way. Good guide, cant tell you how many times ive ganked an idiot dazzle o.0

IMO Dazzle should be played as a support hero. Playing support just makes dazzle way more effective. I find that a warrior/hero killing dazzle lacks an escape strategy. Maybe try a warrior dazzle with a blink dagger for running.

assault curias wont do much in team battle when enemy pick you, you just will die in matter of second . Dazzle is not a tank hero. I just think he need a heart in late game, His armour weave will improve his tankyness too.

you covered pretty much everything, was in a 5v3 game, we being the 3, we had lich and queen of pain, they had leoric, luna, axe, meepo, Sandking
And we OWNED them hardcore.
Kept feeding them health+armour, repeating it like crazy, and we just pushed mid and top.. and we won

I think that Silkwood is one of the best allies you can have with you. Just swap + stun + Poison Touch + Hex...thats a long disable....

You think that dazzle is support hero because he has 1 weak heling skill?? well, he has high base dmg, and news news! he is a damage dealer, how do you help you team with 170 hp heal, hah its useless skill

Hmm skadi is a good orb effect choice. but my choice of orb effect is Desolater, give them alot of armor reduction so u take big chunks out of their life

Good guide for starter. But Dazzle can't really own.

I love how everyone thinks dazzle should be made into hero killer. That's dumb, if you want to make a hero killer, get someone whose skills actually support it... Someone with good dps potential from their natural abilities instead of just because of their items. I like the guide, 10/10.

A great guide, but the mindset of dazzle as only a support hero is extremely restrictive. I have always played dazzle aggressively and he has never failed me as a hero killer and pusher.

personally dazzle is very good by himself if given the right items, my build is BoT Buriza, Skadi, then i stack hearts so i wont die but this is a good guide for a team player dazzle

erm can some1 teach me how to use the 1st spell u nid to hold something or wat rite? like alchemist's stun? how to? teach me pls

Using Dazzle's first spell is actually quite simple. the longer the poison takes to set in the great the slow and the mini stun. so basically with PT maxed or lvl 3, u cast it 3 seconds before you want the mini stun. against a melee agility hero. Don't deny on one creep wave. and before the last enemy creep dies cast PT. your creeps surround the stationary hero. and back to heal he goes.

Uhh dude, Weave is an Ult and therefore is learned first at lvl 6. Not lvl 3. Also this guide looks almost the same as the other (better) one for Dazzle.
